Track Listing

  1. je t’aime ★ je t’aime
  2. I’m in the mood for dancing
  3. je t’aime ★ je t’aime (Extended Mix)
  4. je t’aime ★ je t’aime (Original Instrumental)
  5. Tommy’s Message (First Press Track)

1. je t’aime ★ je t’aime

Our French titled tune starts out very simple with the keyboard, with synths entering.  This song, like all the previous singles carries the same pop-like sound.  Though I actually find myself really enjoying this song.  Tommy actually does say a few things in French, most notably the title.  I love the bridge so much especially how she goes through the first line.  I love, I love this song!

2. I’m in the mood for dancing

Leaving out pop tune, we enter into another one.  I actually thought the music was overpowering Tommy a bit.  Not only that, I think this song was pretty annoying to me,Her voice was just off a lot.  Then again it did remind me of a few songs back on her debut album It’s really not worth your time listening to this.

3. je t’aime ★ je t’aime (Extended Mix)

Now this is a great extension of a great song.  I like how dark the beginning and then, Tommy’s repetition of ~je t’aime, je t’aime~ it was really funny, then it progresses right to the start of the tune.  They changed very little of the single, though the first stanza of the verse is quieter, then the instrementation we know and love returns.  All in all, this is a great song and actually, I love the extension a lot more.

4. Tommy’s Message

Wow, the music is just too cute.  Tomoko starts talking, but I have no idea what she’s exactly saying.  Though that damn music is just that catchy to listen to.  It’s got the usual Tommy Feb6 flare to it.  It’s probably a useless track.  Still, it’s a cute first press track.

Tommy’s 1st single in the “Tommy Airline” era is a really awesome one.  The title track and its extended mix are great to listen to.  The B-side though sucked, it really annoyed the crap outta me.  The final track, was useless, but you should listen to the music in it.  Is it worth it.  Well go for the Extended Mix, I know you’ll like it!

Nana Kitade – Utareru Ame June 8, 2008

utareruame

Track Listing

  1. Utareru Ame
  2. Akai Hana
  3. Utakata
  4. Utareru Ame ~raw “break” track~

1. Utareru Ame

Nana’s strong rock track.  Utareru Ame starts off with some strong guitars, it becomes apparant that this is straight-up more edgier than “Kesenai Tsumi”.  Nana sounds a lot more whiney throughout.  The guitar solo in the middle was very gritty but it leads to Nana coming back in softer than the entire song itself.  It has a nice ending to it too.  Anywho, it’s a pretty good track.

2. Akai Hana

This already is so much catchier than “Utareru Ame”.  Nana’s lyrics and her voice seem almost forced during the verses.  The bridge is very, very cool.  It’s definitly not hard rock at all and is pretty dang catchy.  It’s got a good steady beat all throughout which made this song very cool.

3. Utakata

An almost odd sound starts this softer track off.  Almost has a magical quality to it, which is very not Nana Kitade-like.  As if it couldn’t get stranger the song is 6 min. and 15 sec. long.  Oh!!!!!, Well she gradually gets louder then BAM!  Guitars blare in.  Once again it’s like “Utareru Ame” *sigh*.  Guitar is actually pretty awesome in this song, it doesn’t sound bad.  After that we go back to the verse where she is quiet and the music is soft and magical, then BAM, round 2!  This is definitly a mood swinging song.

So, Utareru Ame was an alright single, I really didn’t like that all the songs were almost carbon-copies off each other.  Neither of the B-side’s make it onto the album which is disappointing since Akai Hana & Utakata were better than the title track.  I do recommend this single though because it’s great female Japanese rock at its core.

allnightlong

Track Listing

  1. all night long
  2. all night long (Intensive Trip Remix)
  3. all night long (Extended Mix)
  4. all night long (Instrumental)

1. all night long

all night long, the house track from the era.  This is very new for Ami.  It starts with some dark synths and some circus-like sounds creating this very creepy and yet danceable song.  Ami sounds right at home with this track.  I like how quiet and more creepy this song gets right after the 1st chorus, then she stops singing and strong synths and Ami ad-libs through it, SO GREAT!  Overall awesome song!

2. all night long (Instensive Trip Remix)

It’s definitly trippy.  It’s more slow and got’s so much going on through it.  It purposely sounds like it’s dragging in the song, which gives it a cool factor.  Guitar comes in to make it groovy and give the remix more substance.  The synths were so creepy in it it was wow…  The layered voices were also a bit strange too.  About 3:00, the song turns very dance like and loses the drag by adding more synths.  The song itself is butchered because they took snippets and pasted it through the tune.  It’s an alright remix though not the best.

3. all night long (Extended Mix)

~ I Need Your Love~ is repeated at the beginning of the tune, sounds like a remix, but easily become the right beat from the single mix.  Well, then there’s a chick singing high notes before Ami comes in and it was not needed!!!! The song has some changes like there’s no echoing in the entire song!  The middle of the song is more aggressive this time also and the 2nd verse is also been worked up a bit.  Clocking almost at 7 minutes, I was actually not liking this….Must be all the changes that were going on.

all night long, was a lot more impressivse in the remixes than “Alone In My Room”.  Still the remix was bery unorthodox and the extended mix was worked on way too much.  Still this was a new genre Ami Suzuki has jumped into, and to be honest, it’s GREAT.  all night long is probably my favorite Sony Ami songs ever
