Track Listing

  1. Get Wild
  2. Get Wild -DX Remix-
  3. Shining Star ☆Wasurenai Kara☆ -Supernova Remix-
  4. CASTAWAY

1. Get Wild

Twinkly percusison laced in the synths, start off with this very hot remake of a TM Network song.  I love how everything is hectic and quick paced before we get into the slower synth chorus.  Then after that she repeats the whole chorus but in a faster pace.  I swear, this song has probably the best vocals from her at this point in time!  Nami in the PV also really danced her ass off for sure!

2. Get Wild -DX Remix-

Longest remix Nami has….and very unusual.  It starts off with percussion sounds and then this really fast and gibbery voice comes in twice.  It gets annoying in the beats section cuz it doesn’t go anywhere for awhile in the song.  Then you hear where the remix starts up officially at 2:15 but it starts with the bridge?  Why?  Oh well, the chorus sounds like a more quiet version of the single.  which is not showcasing anything new.  I actually didnt like this cuz it’s the same track with Nami’s voice sounded like she singing it in a Megaphone.  Does anyone know what that kid, or person is saying during the song?  And no verses?  WTF!  Oh yea, during the chorus, there’s some new lyrics she uses in the song, which intrigued me because I never heard it in the Album version…

3. Shining Star ☆Wasurenai Kara☆ -Supernova Remix-

Ewwww.  I do not like this remix at all in the beginning, the beats are forced and, even annoying synths.  Then it get’s quiet in the chorus, with Nami and the background singers singing, but when thats over, it gets better, making sound a bit wintry? I don’t know how put it.  Then it goes back to that annoying sounds in the beginning, ugh.  This also is on the top for least heard remix.

4. CASTAWAY

So, here we are with the single version of CASTAWAY, If you remember I hated the album version because of the BKGD vocalists and how they sounded terrible.  Now this version sounds so much better.  The song is a hybrid of a ballad and a dance track, so it’s a doozy for sure.  I love how powerful she is in the track.  makes up for those remixes.

Nami’s first single in the “Speciality” era was definitly pulling me in so many directions.  The awesomeness of “Get Wild” wins as best track.  “CASTAWAY” should have been kept this way for the album!!! and the remixes were very unneeded, Though I was surprised that “Shining Star” got a remix….Still a pretty awesome single though.

Track Listing

  2. I still love you boy
  3. MaGic in youR Eyes (Original Instrumental)
  4. I still love you boy (Original Instrumental)

1. MaGic in youR Eyes

The cute song of the era, its got a pounding beat to it.  If it wasn’t for that this song probably have been really boring.  Tommy sounds quite interested here and I like the after-chorus!  The entire song is pop/synth but it’s different from her past singles.  The best track from the era.

2. I still love you boy

The ballad of the era.  I still love you boy is actually slower than “I’LL BE YOUR ANGEL” from the last era.  This is also very significant because it has Tomoko at her lower range most of the song.  The chorus is so strange as she swoops some of her notes into a bad territory.  Sucks that this song also dragged a bit for my taste.

Tommy February6’s final single of the “Tommy Airline” was a nice change from the last single.  Finally, a ballad….even though it was boring, it did widen the playing field for her.  The title track, was definitly a good catchy pop tune.  Both songs are on the album, which is great.

Mai Kuraki – Love, Day After Tomorrow July 18, 2008

Track Listing

  1. Love, Day After Tomorrow
  2. Everything’s All Right
  3. Everything’s All Right (Remix)
  4. Love, Day After Tomorrow (Instrumental)

1. Love, Day After Tomorrow

Ah, the urban feel from Mai Kuraki.  Her voice is very smooth most of the time and this song pretty much enforces that rule.  I was kind of confused at how she said the title of the song however in the chorus but w/e.  It’s got such a cool, calm beat to it.  A very good debut track.

2. Everything’s All Right

The B-side sounds almost too similar to the previous track, but this time there’s more BKGD vocals.  Then again they take over the chorus while Mai covers the verses.  I found this track to be more better than “Love, Day After Tomorrow”.  There’s strings spread out and about in the track, which is always a good thing.  Awesome Track.

Mai’s debut was definitly a good introduction to her career.  Love, Day After Tomorrow was a great track, but c’mon Everything’s All Right was the better track.  Both are great with this Japanese R&B singer!
