1. Darling Wondering Staring
Talk about a nice change. DWS is a more of a techno-ballad at least to me. There’s less stuff going on than either of the last two singles which is pretty cool. I kinda didn’t want Aira to be so covered by the vocoder’s sound either. It kind of made me uncomfortable listening to it. I’m pretty sure she uses English also but it’s kind of tough to hear with Aira’s lisp being there. Still it’s an alright track.
2. STAR FRUITS SURF RIDER
I actually enjoyed this track a lot more than “Darling Wondering Staring”. Not only it has less synths in it and has a more progressive pop sound to it, but I can understand what Aira is saying. The music is so soothing and magical, I actually loved that. I really didn’t care that it was repetitive because at this point of the Ero-pop era that’s taking over this is almost candy to the ears. BTW it is a remake but I have never heard the original from Cornelius.
3. Darling Wondering Staring (PLASTIC FANTASTIC remix)
Uhm, so here we have the remix and to be honest I liked this more than the main version. It’s got such a nice rhythm and the synths blended in well for the most part. As for lyrical content, you can’t really decipher anything except when she’s singing the title…Actually I think that’s all she’s singing, so I guess the remix was useful for the beats changed. Still it’s a catchy remix.
4. STAR FRUITS SURF RIDER (digital mp-3 mastering mix)
Think people!, what do you this is? Yes, it’s a more clearer version of said track and it’s better to listen to on your IPod actually. It took out fluff and it just sounds better.
Aira Mitsuki’s 3rd and final single for the “COPY” era was a different album against the other two singles as she took to a more calmer sign of Electro-pop. Still both songs are pretty good but not in the way “CTSNO.9″ or “China Discotica” are. Both are on the album, though STAR FRUITS SURF RIDER is on only the Regular Version.
