Track Listing

  1. Kane wo Narashite
  2. Pump It Up!
  3. A Perfect Sky (Bjorn Remix)
  4. Kane wo Narashite (Instrumental)
  5. Pump It Up! (Instrumental)

1. Kane wo Narashite

Japanese version of Ring A Bell?  Yep, though it’s been a while since the English version came out, the Japanese was pretty rockin’ especially for what she’s been releasing.  Kane wo Narashite sounds quite good with it’s explosive sounds and nice vocals.  Though I found it lacking a little something and I actually prefer “Ring A Bell” more.

2. Pump It Up!

Then as if I thought it was going to be downer B-side, we get Pump It Up!  It’s crazy dancebeats and affectious lyrics really what made the song so original and so cool.  It even sounds like something Kylie would do actually and it’s quite interesting.  Oh yea the ~unh unh~ is sexy all over.  One of her most valiant efforts as of recent.

3. A Perfect Sky (Bjorn Remix)

Though I know it’s a remix…it’s quite bad…it’s like they made a bad beach song added with some clapping.  I like the clapping though, then it just gets awkward after a while.  Bonnie sounds good just by herself and not with any help….ugh I’ll stick with the original

So, this single was alright, not her best but it’s a solid single.  Kane wo Narashite, being a Japanese remaking of “Ring a Bell” was not too bad but it could’ve been better.  A Perfect Sky’s remix was disturbing and well, didn’t do the song justice.  Pump It Up! however was golden and the best track off the single, yea I went there.

ARTIST BLOWOUT pt. 8 September 3, 2008

Yep this time itll be a short list consisting for two artists

BONNIE PINK

Yes, Selly once again got me addicted to BONNIE PINK and I’ll review her albums randomly as well.  But, my first post from her is to review “Kane wo Narashite”

Kylie Minogue

For the 1st time on the blog I’m introducing an artist that isn’t singing in Japanese and it’s the classy and clever Kylie Minogue.  Same thing and review a random album…well actually her 3 latest albums since I have physical copies so “Fever” is up first.

Nami Tamaki – Sanctuary September 3, 2008

Track Listing

  1. Sanctuary
  2. Happiness
  3. Double Story
  4. Sanctuary -instrumental-

1. Sanctuary

~Bokutachi wa minna kitto…~ which is part of the chorus starts us off.  So far this is the slowest single of the era, but still infuses dance beats.  Somehow, I really didn’t enjoy the tempo of the song, since it could have been so much faster.  I do like that Nami is taking a more majestic approach to this song.  So it works but it’s my least favorite A-side of the era.

2. Happiness

Ewwww, why did she have to hit that super high that she knows she can’t hit exactly.  I think she was trying for a more happy tune like “MY WAY” but once again she fails, but this time it wasn’t that it was boring, it was just vocally hard for Nami and it really showed here.  Musically it’s the same since the beginning of her career, she should try for something new.

3. Double Story

Then we get another dance track that is Double Story.  Sadly, by this time in the single, you’re bored of the dance routine and just want to hear something different, which lies it’s downfall.  The song just is like any of her dance tracks.  I do give her props on making the chorus sound important, nice song by itself but in context not really original

So, IMO this is her weakest single….The era itself was half half….This single was dance fever, but it’s strained out for how long now???  Yea, that’s what I thought.  All 3 songs could have been taken another way like Sancturay could have been the ballad for the era…but nooooo.  Still I’m happy this era ended.

Tommy Heavenly6 – Wait till I can dream September 3, 2008

Track Listing

  1. Wait till I can dream
  2. Swear
  3. Melancholy Power++

1. Wait till I can dream

What a powerful start to our alternate Tomoko.  You can obviously tell she’s darker and more rockin than February.  This track proves how good she is in versatility.  The chorus is loud and pretty powerful as well.  The definite thing I remember is how it’s PV was connected to “Love is forever” from TF6 that was a great idea to stick that on like that.

2. Swear

Swear is even more menacing than “Wait till I can dream”.  Tomoko’s low voice fits the dark songs IMO.  Sadly it sounds like American dark rock.  Though the bridge stood out for me for some reason.  Still it isn’t the best song of her collection.

3. Melancholy Power++

So it’s the ending track and short…..Sadly it’s really messy like it was just some random guitar chords and drum beats and it lead nowhere…What a useless track overall.

Tommy Heavenly’s debut single was a shocker for me.  Both songs are rock-hard tracks and the last track?  Well….let’s say it’s not the best I’ve heard.  What she starts here will carry on for two albums which is the same as TF6

Tommy February6 – ♥Lonely in Gorgeous♥ September 3, 2008

Track Listing

  1. ♥Lonely in Gorgeous♥
  2. Is this feeling love?
  3. E-mail♥ more
  4. ♥Lonely in Gorgeous♥ (Original Karaoke)

1. ♥Lonely in Gorgeous♥

Ending her career at this song, this is probably her best track.  It was like almost on Heavenly’s territory but still has the February pop flavor in it.  Tomoko sounds more lively and the synths together make a pretty cool song.  It’s actually can be considered dance with how the synths are used.  Pretty spiffy song if you ask me.

2. Is this feeling love?

Sounds a bit more serious than “Lonely in Gorgeous” maybe a little more like a love song…then again look at the title.  The chorus has her descending notes and using so pretty good English.  It’s just totally different sound from the 1st track and sounds so much more powerful.

3. E-mail♥ more

Definitly in the reins of 80’s synth-pop…You can really tell that this was a nod to the past.  It’s just got the girliness and pep that actually helped out very well.  Tommy sounds like she was being cute, maybe sexii.  Who knows.  Though, the song is somewhat obvious and kind of annoying after a while but it’s ok or a few listens.

Tommy February6’s final single was so cool.  All 3 songs are different from each other.  Sad that this was her final before leading out with TH6…Definitly a single to get.
