1. real Emotion
~What can I do for you?~ I mean it really steps her game up quite nicely. As the 1st vocal track in FFX-2 it really was lively and its pop/dance vibe really created the mood of the game also. Though the line I wrote gets repetitive, Kumi comes back with the verses and chorus. She sounds more confident in herself with the song and it doesn’t sound like anything she’s done before. Though the Americans get shafted for hearing Jade Valerie’s version this one beats it out for sure.
2. 1000 no Kotoba
To show off her skills further, 1000 no Kotoba is the ballad of the single and is very simple and yet loud at the same time. Oddly I liked Jade’s version of the song better for some reason. It’s nothing personal against Kumi but Jade’s voice is more for ballads than Kumi’s. I do think it’s a good ballad either way and suited the game as well being a major point. Awesome
Wow, this single was full of life and for a Square-Enix game it really stood out for her and shot her career into the mainstream. real Emotion is an affectious dance tune while 1000 no Kotoba is a powerful ballad. What’s better Kumi tried her English again with both of these songs are both found on her next single.
