Track Listing

  1. HIGH PRESSURE
  2. HIGH PRESSURE (Original Backing Track)
  3. HIGH PRESSURE “Natsu Matsuri SUMMER FESTA” Mix

1. HIGH PRESSURE

Pretty typical of him.  Not as fantastic as “LEVEL 4″ but it does its job being as a single.  There’s some eurobeat and some hard guitars in this track.  Though I thought this was a very boring song.  Nothing really stood out and Takanori doesn’t bring his game for this song.  What a blah song.

Takanori’s 2nd single for the “triple joker” era was kinda fail and it just wasn’t anything special.  Luckily the rest of this era will be alright….maybe…

Track Listing

  1. High-Spirit
  2. Time Of Destiny
  3. Arifureta Nichijou wo Sutete
  4. Sentence
  5. Stay in my heart
  6. Oval
  7. Losing myself
  8. FUNNY DAYs
  9. Morning glow
  10. grow
  11. naturally
  12. flower of youth

1. High-Spirit

We start this album with the oldest track which was a bonus track found in the “DatII” era.  It still is great song and made a great opening.  misono still sounds great singing with this and the band as well.  Cool

2. Time Of Destiny

A weird start to our 1st new track.  It sounds like very classic like 70′s pop or something like that.  I blame it with the keyboard just because it has so many different sounds to it.  misono this time sounds a little off here but then again her voice is in a higher register.  I got to say though this is a pretty catchy pop track.

3. Arifureta Nichijou wo Sutete

OMG, now this is what I’m talking about.  The music is so much fun and full of life, add some cool synths and a pretty good guitar riff and we get this awesome track.  misono sounds pretty serious in the song and it corresponds with everything else thats going on.  Though it’s shorter than I wanted it to be it’s probably my favorite song on the album so far.

4. Sentence

Sentence is like what the later songs will sound like mostly.  Slow opening before opening to the main melody and then starting with the lyrics.  I enjoyed the guitar mostly in this song with its guitar riffs.  misono sounds a little more calmer than “Arifureta Nichijou wo Sutete” but it doesn’t bother the song at all.  The synth line is pretty catchy too.  Another great track.

5. Stay in my heart

As one of the singles, this song was a good choice for a single, but I would’ve put “Sentence” as a single instead.  It’s a tad slower but in production it’s actually a pretty good song.  Though it’s weird to hear piano as the verses and everything else is the chorus.  Still it’s a lot of people’s favorite song from this era.

6. Oval

I wished it was a full song.  All it is is just a piano interlude into our next song.  Though I do like how nice the interlude is and its simple.  Nice and it ends like immediatly into

7. Losing myself

Right into this very in your face track.  I mean it’s got some pretty aggressive strikes from the keyboard.  Though I found myself annoyed with those strikes after awhile.  At least it isn’t covering misono much.  She’s kind of filling in the gaps when it doesn’t strike which is so good.  Not the best track but I like misono here.

8. FUNNY DAYs

Weird idea for a song to have such an odd beat and melody.  Eventually the song gathers its momentum and we’re left with a guitar riff and drums playing with misono in her normal range.  It’s actually not that bad of a song.  The chorus is pretty sweet and how she ended the chorus on a minor note was funny.  Hence the name right?

9. Morning glow

A more haunting piano interlude.  Morning glow I enjoyed more as an interlude than “Oval”.  Though I don’t know why they would have two in the first place only after two song in between.  Funny how it’s like a long opening to our next track.

10. grow

I didn’t notice the song changed into “grow” until I heard misono started singing in this rock ballad.  There’s some beautiful strings in here and it made the song so pretty to listen to.  A very great ballad comparing to alot of the past tracks.  Everything seemed to flow well in the song even the bridge was was lyrically faster.  Awesomeness.

11. naturally

I found it to have naturally near the end a pretty good idea beacause I couldn’t have thought of a better place to put it.  As it is another single I thought this was a pretty good song comparing it to “Stay in my heart”.  The only thing I griped was how they ended the chorus.  It just didn’t seem right there.  Other than that it was a pretty good song.

12. flower of youth

To end the album we have this odd pop ballad.  It’s slower than “naturally” but there’s like some strong sounds filling the song.  Though I kinda found this song to be on the boring side of things.  misono also did too, she doesn’t didn’t really sound like she wanted to do this tune.  Oh well…..

Song of Avoidance

  • flower of youth

dat’s first full album was OK at best.  There were some great songs and there were songs that needed some work on.  I do like how at that time no one really sounded like them at all.  They still today sound so different from any other acts out today.  Wished they reunited.

Track Listing

  1. Hey my friend
  2. Roller coaster ride→
  3. Hey my friend (Original Instrumental)

1. Hey my friend

Not as menicing as “Wait till I can dream” was.  This is a more mellow rock tune.  It’s kind of a soft rock song and makes it sound like what Avril Lavigne would put out if you ask me.  I though it was pretty interesting that she could do this becuase I haven’t listened to any of the Buriguri stuff before “Stand by me”.  This song is pretty good and introduces the idea that TH6 isn’t all badass and stuff.

2. Roller coaster ride→

Oh, but she still is with this track.  As it is the only B-side that doesn’t appear on the debut album, it’s a good thing.  Because this song is just so awesome and catchy.  Still isn’t angry like her debut, but this has some great guitar solos and Tommy breezin’ through the song like she’s all that.  If you think about this is a roller coaster ride.  Even though it ends before 3 minutes pass, it’s fast and has twists to it. I LOVE IT!

I loved this single so much.  Both songs are new ideas and really showed versatility in the music, moreso than TF6 was.  Hey my friend is american pop/rock for sure, but I’m used to it and it actually sound pretty good while Roller coaster ride→ is crazy and full of life.  Definitly two songs to check out.

Leah Dizon – Koi Shiyou♪

Track Listing

  1. Koi Shiyou♪
  2. Could you be that one?
  3. Aishiteru~Love Story

1. Koi Shiyou♪

To put it bluntly this is one of my favorite Leah tracks and that’s not saying much.  There’s some R&B elements put in this track and Leah doesn’t sounds bad against it.  With some pretty cute lyrics in addition likt ~Baby Please, fall in love~ I mean awwww it’s cute.  Definitly better than her debut.

2. Could you be that one?

Used in a CM for Ninja Gaiden?  I can’t really picture this song being the song they decided to use.  It’s pretty much a beat driven “Koi Shiyou♪”  Though I swear I heard the chorus’s melody somewhere else before.  This song for me though, the song didn’t really appreciate Leah at all.  Srry, but try again Leah.

3. Aishiteru~Love Story

Hmmmmm, an even more aggressive R&B track?  Yep this has some funky beats and is in English mostly, but her English sounds a little strange to me even though she was born in the states.  Though she’s pretty good overall.  Her vocals come out odd as well since her higher register is very thin and just flat to my ears.

So this 2nd single was better than her debut.  Even though her vocals really need some work, she can release so catchy songs like Koi Shiyou♪ and Aishiteru~Love Story.  Could you be that one? is the only one i really didnt find appealing to me.

dream – Believe in you

Track Listing

  1. Believe in you
  2. My will (sweet dream mix)
  3. Believe in you (Instrumental)

1. Believe in you

Simple as it is, its another eurobeat track from dream.  Unluckily by this time this track just doesn’t seperate itself from its brethren.  Not even the chorus could have saved this song from being utterly bland.  Musicially it’s ok but with how the hirls took this song on its nothing.

So this single was failure on two sides.  One, the song is just like the other A-side of this era and is just boring to my ears and I barely paid attention.  The second thing, why would you release a single on the sme day as you release the album?  I mean if you had sense, you wouldn’t do that.

Morning Musume – Resonant Blue

Track Listing

  1. Resonant Blue
  2. Sono Bamen de Bibiccha Ikenai Jan!
  3. Resonant Blue (Instrumental)

1. Resonant Blue

Don’t get me wrong, I really do enjoy Resonant Blue like other people, but it seriously drives me insane looking at the line distribution to the song.  I mean it’s essentially Ai and Reina feat. Koharu feat. the other girls…it was so one-sided this time.  I still think it’s a fun song though with a lot of English lines and random one-liners like ~help me, help me, me,~ and ~cry, cry, don’t cry~.  It’s a groovy little tune…but seriously…where’s the other ladies and solo lines for em????

2. Sono Bamen de Bibiccha Ikenai Jan!

And then we go back into the bland pop crap that was ever so known before this era.  The use o brass is a smart idea, but I just found this to be so damn lame and very typical and lame.  For being a B-side, I found this to be more bland then “Please! Jiyuu he Tobira”  which is not good thing.  I still enjoy the brass and that’s about it.

Well Morning Musume’s latest single is definitly catchy but that’s just only the title track.  Resonant Blue has such an interesting twist from the normal MM pop formula with uneven line distribution and yet an intricate arrangement.  Sadly, the B-side is kind of lame and one-dimensional and didn’t stand out for me.
