1. Light My Fire

I was kind of surprised that KOTOKO’s first single under Warner was going to be a loud one with Light My Fire.  Also, I’m kind of left shocked that she chose to do a rock song but somehow she made the song her own and powers through the song like she’s HBIC and I love the song.  Not as much as “SCREW” but this is her best A-side since then!

I want to say the B-side is a little thing leftover from Halloween but I can’t decide if it’s that or just because KOTOKO can still release cute songs which is essentially this.  After the powerful A-side, I am a little disappointed with this mostly because KOTOKO is utilizing her cute genki vocals for this one.  I will say that the synth-pop style is nice and relaxing but simple actually.  I say it’s better than most of the B-sides of recent but I still love “Light My Fire” more.

 

 

KOTOKO’s first single under Warner and she kicks it off with a bang with Light My Fire.  There’s not many strong rock songs that she has so having one like this is pretty awesome and shows that Warner really wants her to succeed.  Candy or Chocolate? is a little “SHORT CIRCUIT”, so much so that I was surprised this wasn’t one hahaha.  Good single overall ^^

So Plugging the FB group again!

So once again it’s time to bring in plugging numero tres to the blog.  Of course I really enjoy the comments I get from my regular readers/viewers….awesomeness ^_^.

I wasn’t sure what I was getting into with Ceui’s new A-side since it’s also my first A-side reviewed.  At first listen, I kind of pushed it aside since it really had a typical anime sound to it that left me uninterested.  It did however grow on me in time since Ceui’s vocals aren’t that bad actually.  They kind of have their own sound and I found myself enjoying the mid-tempo tune in the end.  Though as an anison singer, I was kind of expecting more?

2. Hitotsu Dake ~Kimi to Boku no Himitsu no Monogatari~

The B-side of the single, Hitotsu Dake, sounds like it’s the ending theme or something because of its much more relaxed nature overall.  Even Ceui’s vocals are light and airy.  I kind of liked this song a whole lot more than the A-side since the breezy feel was just pretty to listen to and it felt more comfortable to listen to. 

 

 

My first single reviewed by Ceui and I’m sort of thinking that she sounds like this on other works (I’ll probably ride back and review “First Eden”).  Still, Stardust Melodia it kind of just average for me and I hope there’s much better from her.  Though I will say that Hitotsu Dake was the better song here ^_^
