Dying message (Voiceless)
1. Dying message
I was wondering what D would release for their next A-side and Dying message isn’t like a lot of stuff before. It’s just straight rock from them like “BIRTH” almost without strings. I kind of like this style from them because it shows more of the band’s talents a lot stronger. ASAGI is also sounding good and his ~dying message~ is good stuff. It’s not bad at all and I liked this song a lot! Ruiza and HIDE-ZOU’s performance though was top notch, guitar solos and everything! Yeah, this song is definitely impressing me a lot!
2. Eve no Keifu
If you liked their “VAMPIRE SAGA” stuff, Eve no Keifu might be your thing because it starts off with some chanting before the band kicks it up a notch and gets dark and goth with some back-up growls. I hearing little synth blips as well which caught me off guard…since when did this become the GazettE? I like the song though as well since it’s got a pleasant melody and ASAGI sounds good too. I do think the growling actually adds to the song and doesn’t detract (like it usually does).
3. God bless you
See! We’re getting more like the GazettE with God bless you with even more synths thrown in alongside the band’s heavy arrangement. I do love the fact that the bass is more in the forefront! I have to say though that the growling here does make me frown a little bit but even more sadder is ASAGI’s odd yelp/growl…it really is meh to me. Just not my kind of song.
4. Hai no Yuki
The last track on the single, Hai no Yuki starts off slow and flowing which is nice to hear and ASAGI kind of sounds nice. I can’t say great because those high notes are a bit tough for him to hit. I do get the feeling of winter in this song which is pleasant and ASAGI fits the cold-hearted atmosphere. Really pretty but some vocal issues to be had IMO.
I guess D’s not indies again? Well Dying message is quite good and not a lot could be faulted about it. I mean Dying message is hard and just a great straightforward J-rock/V-kei song. Eve no Keifu rides behind it and I love the edgy atmosphere about. Hai no Yuki makes for a good mid-tempo rock track that sounds cold and stunning but ASAGI couldn’t pull the tune vocally for some of it. God bless you though was bad…I mean the vocal aerials were just all over the place for me. Good single overall, curious to how “Danzai no Gunner” will turn out.
