Track Listing

  2. NIGHT OF FIRE (dream of ‘dream’ mix)
  3. Breakin’ Out (EURO MIX)
  4. NIGHT OF FIRE – instrumental
  5. NIGHT OF FIRE (dream of ‘dream’ mix) – instrumental

1. NIGHT OF FIRE

Seriously, this has got to be one of their best songs of the era, which in turn is a remake of a 1999 hit from Niko who’s also on their label.  You can obviously tell that this song is a dance track.  It’s stands from the other song with a fast synth line and I mean fast.  The gals go through the lines sort of mechanically, but isn’t too bad.  I love how they yell ~Night of Fire~ for the chorus.  Still it’s a favorite of mine from them.

NIGHT OF FIRE was actually remade one year after the original which made me think it was too soon and not soon after HINOI Team came and also covered this as well, but changed the lyrics around.  Dream’s version is far more superior though.  Still, I like both groups’ versions.  Dream’s 5th single is awesome!

  2. reality (Dub’s Warp House Mix)
  3. send a little love (BEATWAVE REMIX)
  4. reality (EUROBEAT MIX)
  5. send a little love (Happy Euro 2000 Mix)
  6. send a little love
  7. reality (Instrumental)
  8. send a little love (Instrumental)

1. reality

I actually was surprised at how much it sounds like some of dat’s stuff in this song.  The strong guitar and synth usage.  It’s a bit less memorable as the other singles however because of how similar it is arrangement-wise to them.  It is a happy track though.

2. send a little love

Then comes the B-side and truthfuly, I was liking the more lower sounding synths.  The bridge was kind of cool because it had this twinkling sound.  The girls sound a bit different with the BKGD vocals helping out.  It’s still a dance tune however but a very awesome one at that.

dream’s 5th single was little disappointing in the A-side since it really didn’t stand out for me but send a little love really ante uped the single with its awesome trance sound.  Thank god both are found on “Dear…”

Track Listing

  1. Private wars
  2. Start me up
  3. Private wars (Dub’s Hyper Club Remix)
  4. Private wars (EURO MIX)
  5. Start me up (landscape mix)
  6. Private wars (SEA BREEZE 2000 Mix)
  7. Private wars (Instrumental)
  8. Start me up (Instrumental)

1. Private wars

Ahhhh, I love Private wars, The beginning has a very strong force to it, then the synths and guitar together sounds great.  Still carries on the euro sounds but right now this song owns the previous singles hands down.  The 3 ladies are very signiicant to their sound and this time sounds great, sounding all important nd in your face.  They do get a bit off tune but thats ok.  The interlude in the middle of the song goes ethereal before striking back like the beginning of the song. SUPER SONG!

2. Start me up

A little bit softer but continuing again with the Euro shtick, Start me up has a bit of a different arrangement and overall sound to it.  Not as powerful as “Private wars” this song is a bit more calmer in the saying.  The ladies are also showing of a quieter tone.  The interlude before the 2nd chorus is a bit more in your face but goes back to being softer.  It’s a good B-side overall.

Private wars this time was a great single.  Private wars showed the aggressiveness in the ladies and in fact was a great thing to do.  Start me up is your pop song and was a kind of a sweet song to hear.  Both song appear on “Dear…” so it’s a useless single unless you want the remixes of course.

heartonwave

 Track Listing

  1. Heart on Wave
  2. Heart on Wave (2FT Mix)
  3. Heart on Wave (HAL’s Mix 2000)
  4. Breakin’ out
  5. Breakin’ out (Y&Co. Remix)
  6. Breakin’ out (Dub’s Club Remix)
  7. Heart on Wave (Instrumental)
  8. Breakin’ out (Instrumental)

1. Heart on Wave

A little more lighter this time around with the synths, It’s prominent feature is the piano for sure.  It’s also slower than their 1st single which was a nice change being that the 1st single was a strong dance single.  The 3 girls don’t really sound together in here though and sound a bit off in their overall sounds.  After a while it can get boring because of the slower speed.  The scratching before the chorus was definitly an annoyance in the song ick!  Other than that, the song is pretty ok, though not their best.

2. Breakin’ out

Staccatoed strings start off this dance tune while an announcer speaks out before the guitar comes in.  That begiinning was pretty interesting.  I like the whole dance feel to this song it’s very much like what we would her in clubs.  The girls actually sound good saying ~Breakin’ Out~ which is rare in girl group today.  Chords are also pretty good too….dang why are all the b-sides so far is better than the a-sides?

dream’s 2nd single was a change of pace mostly, I mean a slower pop song; Heart on Wave showed they can do somewhat a good slow pop song, while Breakin’ Out shows more of their talent in the dance genre.  I prefer the latter though, just because I’m used to the dance genre from them.

movinon

Track Listing

  1. Movin’ on (Keep on Mix)
  2. Movin’ on
  3. access to love
  4. Movin’ on (Dub’s Not Illegal Mix)
  5. Movin’ on (D-Z CRYSTAL OXYGEN Mix)
  6. access to love (Y&Co. TASTE Mix)
  7. Movin’ on (Instrumental)
  8. access to love (Instrumental)

2. Movin’ on

What a dizzy beginning, very awesome guitar playing.  Though it’s your normal dance track, minus the awesome bridge, though it makes up with that great guitar.  The girls sound strong from the start too.  I can’t say that I found this song well though.  It kind of lost my interest.  Though I like how they say ~Movin’ On!~

3. access to love

I already enjoyed this song so much better than “Movin’ on” .  This song also has some cool riffs in it.  The girls also sound much more comfortable in this song too.  It’s a tad slower than the title track but still, it’s got so much more interest in here.  I like what they do when they finish the chorus by going back to the sounds from the beginning.  Great!!!

Well, starting with the 3-nin dream, this single was alright, though I would have liked access to love be the A-side, because Movin’ on has B-side qualities to it.  Still they both make it onto their 1st album.
