1. Touch

Touch does sound like a pretty sneaky 8-Bit track.  I do like the beats to it, but Momoi’s vocals are still nothing to write home about.  Momoi does sound pretty monotone, but at least it’s covered up by the music which is great during the solos.  I’m already liking this song a lot.

2. Koi no Jumon wa Suki to Kimi to Kiss

I’m not sure why, but the song doesn’t really scream “favorite” from my ears.  There’s just something about it that sounds strange, maybe it’s the beat or the fact that it’s Momoi sounding very seiyuu-like within.  I think the song is supposed to sound futuristic, but I think it failed at that too.

3. Hadashi no Furoone

Even more creepier, is this happy-go-lucky track.  Another downer track caused by the fact Momoi even sings.  There’s sounds of video-game jumping and it’s like what am I supposed to say…Was this partly made from Mario?  I mean it really sounds like it could be one of em’.

4. Lum no Love Song

Talk about a hectic start.  I actually don’t mind Momoi in this song because it’s actually quite good for a cover.  It sounds like one of the celebration songs at the end of the game.  Possibly the credits.  Knowing the Nana Kitade also covered it makes me wonder why this song is popular?  LOL at coin sounds!

5. Delicate ni Sukishite

I also love the music with this track.  It screams cute all over, unfortunately, the song really doesn’t go anywhere for me .  I’m pretty sure it was supposed to sound serious and all, but it just doesn’t do it for me.

6. Omoide ga Ippai

Yay, Pokemon-like music.  It’s kind of like the “Bicycle Theme” with it’s pace and free-sounds.  Momoi doesn’t sound really bad either which is the saving grace for both her and the song.  It’s one of my favorites from the album.

7. Fushigi na Merumo

The water-themed song pops up next and it actually works.  It’s another of my favorites from the album because the music just seemed to work with Momoi.  I think the fact the Momoi’s more expressive vocals worked this time and I’m noticing she’s ad-libbing and saying odd stuff like ~CANDY!~  Yea, huh?

8. Hajimete no Chuu

A bouncy little track that’s full cute annd Momoi actually slurring her words which makes the song a lot better than a lot of the tracks.  Unluckily she does the seiyuu voice unexpectedly, but it isn’t death-defying.  The chorus has some male BKGD vocals saying ~Chuu~ which is a nice little touch to the song.  Pretty cute here.

9. Moonlight Densetsu

I bet Sailor Moon fans are cringing in their seats listening to this cover.  Not only was also covered by Nana Kitade, but hers is better surprisingly.  It doesn’t mean the song isn’t terrible, but it’s a pretty hard listen against the original.  Personally, I’m no fan of the series but I do know the song and it’s ust scary listining to this.

10. Sougen no Maruko

Damn is this song creepy.  It sounds like your on haunted grounds and it sounds pretty damn good for being all 8-bit and stuff.  Sounds like the song changes mood by the time we get into the chorus where it sounds like a march, but it does go back into the haunting sounds which is great.

11. L wa Lovely

Then we get into the uber poppy stuff, L wa Lovely is a strange little poppy track, because there’s echo’s through the choruses of the track which is an interesting concept, but it kind of messes up the song if you know what I mean.  Even then the chorus is just lame as it is.

12. Areare Arare-Chan

Continuing on with this pop-like track, this has to be the most annoying track off the album.  She sings the verses very robotically and the music doesn’t help because they are in synch with each other.  Her repetition of the title is so dumb to me.  Like OMG, worst track.

13. Romantic Ageru yo

Thank god this song came after, Even though it isn’t too much better than “Areare Arare-Chan” this has the fastest 8-bit shuffles through the song.  Luckily, I love the instrumental parts, but Momoi kind of kills it with the voice again.  Definitly not memorable…

14. Kimi wa Hoehoe Musume

Wow, the final track opens pretty funky and quite cool.  This time Momoi isn’t so bad here which is good and the music is still good throughout.  Once again, I find myself asking, why Pokemon?  Just kidding, a good way to finish the album.

Tracks Recommended

  • Sougen no Maruko
  • Fushigi na Merumo
  • Omoide ga Ippai
  • Hajimete no Chuu
  • Touch

Song of Avoidance

  • Areare Arare-chan

Like I said before, this 8-bit album beats out the sequal definitly.  More tracks I actually liked and less cringed at as well.  I still have faults with Momoi’s singing style, but I guess for the most part it was alright, except for the first few tracks.  Middle of the album was prolly the best area since she switched sounds up for a little bit.
