  4. Gunjou no Tani Acoustic Version (Instrumental)

1. Gunjou no Tani

At first I thought it was going to be another ballad, which by now is starting to annoy me, but she proved me wrong with a loud pop/rock sound that sounds so much better than “Kaze no Tegami”.  I honestly think this is her best song since “Ashita e no Sanka”.  It does feature those Tibetan mountain notes and she sounds amazing here.  The thing that got me was the arrangement is so similar to Coldplay’s “Clocks” that maybe one day they can collab to this song, make a mash-up perhaps?  HAHA.  Still what an amazing track.

2. Gunjou no Tani Acoustic Version

Instead of the grandiose of the original, this is more of a laidback version with acoustic guitar and more prominent erhu.  alan also resang the song and honestly it sounds better than the original if not more.  You can hear subdued e. guitar acting as the small reminder that y’know the original is still there.  Still uuuuhhhhmaazzzzing!!!

I was worried that her final single before “Voice of EARTH” would have been another ballad, luckily it wasn’t and one of her strongest singles altogether.  If there’s a single worth starting on it’s either this or “Ashita e no Sanka *RECOMMENDED*

1. Rokkinpo Goroshi

We start the album with our title track and it’s definitly fast-paced.  Daisuke and Ryo are so hard to understand here because they are using some fast lyrics.  The song goes through many different areas which kept the song in an interesting style.  It’s just definitly wild.

2. Houchou Hasami Cutter Knife Dosu Kiri

It was the last single for the era and did end with a bang.  This was just hardcore fast and they didn’t let up on the speed.  Nao’s drumming is crazy here and Ryo and Daisuke-han are once again in the forefront blasting crazy fast lyrics.  It’s definitly one of my favorite songs from them and if you’ve seen the PV, you’re in for a ride as it’s just mind-numbing.

3. Nitro BB Sensou

We finally hear Nao sing a little bit in our first happy upbeat song.  Though I did find Daisuke-han’s moment was just a little outlandish but the song has a punk style of catchiness and it’s so fun.  Iono why, but this song is just uber fun and Ue-chan’s solo at the end was awesome.  Then there’s this quack at the end….

4. Falling Jimmy

Wait, they have many “Jimmy” songs so I’m guessing they are all connected somehow.  Once again Daisuke-han’s moment did make the music change a little bit.  ~FUCK JIMMY~ I mean when this is in the chorus is just hilarious.  The song felt really short and at the end there’s another quacking sound WTF!!

5. Kawakita Saruin

Another short song, but going back to the punk sound, Kawakita is just a messy song.  Like all it is, is a scream-fest for the first part while there’s bleeping which was so funny.  The chorus was so short though, even though all it is is ~Saruin~ and once again, that infamous quack on this album appears to finish the song.

6. Anal Whiskey Ponce (re-rec)

We begin this re-recording with Daisuke-han doing his usual fare of screaming/growling.  There’s something catchy about the song when Ryo comes in, but c’mon such a strange title for a song.  Once again it’s pretty short though barely making over 2 minutes.  I have to say this is Daisuke-han’s track.  There’s no quack either *gasp*

7. Rock Bankurawase

Beginning the era off, Rock Bankurawase is still short only 3 seconds longer than the last track, but this has a lot more interesting riffs and speed changes than the last track.  I’m not sure why, but this song just was that good and they made a good choice making this a single.

8. Haiyani Spain

There’s something freaky with Haiyani Spain.  It’s definitly metal sounding with those screams.  Ryo’s part is so fast that I couldn’t catch up with everything going on.  The bad part is that the song is heavily cut n’ paste because when the song gets good it goes back to the beginning with Daisuke-han’s wild rush and the transition is terrible.

9. FUTOSHI

It’s hard, but that’s all that’s going or it.  The bleeping returns which is so funny.  I think the best part is Ue-chan’s solo with the bass, it’s so amazing and he has to be one of the best.  Other than that, it’s a filler track.

10. Rei Rei Rei Rei Rei Rei Rei Rei Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma

What’s with the long ass title right?  Well the song makes this seem like an anthem of sorts because they sing the title like it’s the best thing ever.  They do have a slightly dark part with Daisuke-han’s part and the later part of the song gets all cheery and stuff and repeating the title.  It’s ok, but not their best.

11. Rolling 1000toon

Rolling 1000toon returns us the punk side of the band with a much more upbeat sound and some great riffs fro the guitar and bass simultaneously.  Nao is even singing here again which is great.  What’s also interesting is that it was on a single during “Kusoban’s” era.  Seeing it here is pretty great and doesn’t detract from the album at all.

12. Rock’n’Roll Chainsaw

What’s with the cute opening of this one.  Ryo singing sounds so funny singing in this otherwise anthem-y track.  They even go back to the cutesy guitar rhythm.  I was like this is WTF on the album.  I have to say this is another one of my favorites as they switch from cute to dangerous in the song like *snaps fingers* that.  The quack even returned….WTF

13. Koi no Kinako Watashi ni Kudasai

What’s this?  A song that doesn’t even feature the band, but Nao only singing with just piano?  This really sent everyone for a spin, even if it was super short, actually the shortest track on the album.  She actually has a good voice on her and her high notes were definitly better than some other artists who tried to do the same.  I think the whole solemn and sad vibe the song worked except………………….THAT DAMN QUACK!!!!

  • FUTOSHI

Even though it isn’t “Buiikikaesu”, Rokkinpo Goroshi was a pretty straightforward album.  I did feel the album was really short compared to that album and at the same time, they did stay true to their sound which is great.  I still don’t know why they featured the whole quacking thing on most of the tracks, maybe there’s a good reason…Even though it totally felt out of place on the final track which well, was out of place in the first place anyway.  Still, good rock album from MTH

  13. Hoshizora ni Furu Yuki
  14. Garden of MY Heart

1. Ichirin no Hana

It was nice to start an album off with the most well-known song, Ichirin no Hana.  As a tie-in for the mega-popular Manga/Anime, Bleach.  HandMC really gave us a powerful song.  Maaki really sings good here and Yuusuke’s death growls with a powerful and fast arrangement, no wonder why it’s one of their bests!

2. for Dear…

Our first new track off the album, for Dear… sounds pretty much like a less crazy “Ichirin no Hana”.  Maaki sounds lively going with a consistent beat.  I have to say the drummer is having a fun time with this song for sure as there so many intricate hits here.  Yuusuke doesn’t come until the middle where he sings/growls his way through.  Even the guitar solo was awesome.

3. “Here I am”

“Here I am” is definitly one hot mess of a song.  It’s also another fast track, but Maaki and Yuusuke just didn’t sound right with everything going on.  Everything was just off balance and the chorus was god terrible.  I think, I’ll press next now…

4. Houseki no Namida

It’s funny that already this album is a lot more metal-sounding.  This song does sound more together at least until the chorus when Maaki sounds so dead to the chorus.  Yuusuke’s really low growling didn’t help the song out one bit, another forgettable song.

5. Mizutama Ramune

If I’m correct, this is the closest to a more complex track we’ll get here.  The guitar plays some interesting rhythms and with Maaki singing along with it helps it out a lot.  Even Yuusuke’s yelling sounds right here.  I have to say this is as happy Mizutama Ramune gets.  Oh yea, Maaki’s higher register sucks IMO.

6. Haitoku no Jounetsu

I really like the tribal opening and then the guitar plays a cool riff.  Yuusuke talking bothers me, but Maaki comes in on time.  Once again the chorus sucks ass here.  Like she doesn’t add any emotion at all and is the song’s main downfall.  Still I have to praise the drummer for some awesome hit here.

7. Tsumi

Tsumi sounds really dark, I mean like almost nightmarish.  Maaki is filtered through the verses, but the music sometimes overpower her and Yuusuke actually is a lot more convincingly dark adding death screams everywhere.  Awesome song though.

8. REAL WORLD

Yuusuke actually starts the song with the chorus which was just terrible.  Luckily, things quickly become better with Maaki.  She actually has emotion here and is a lot better.  Sadly, I’m starting to get bored at how similar most of the tracks sound.  Yuusuke’s parts are bad on his part because he can’t really sing on right notes.  They become too flat and sound bad against the music

9. A PLACE TO GO

I finally hear some synths with A PLACE TO GO and seems a little less hard than the other tracks.  It’s still rock, but they went a little softer and I have to say this is a godsend on this album.  Maaki even sings the chorus in English which is very surprising and sounds good too, maybe a little weird considering, but it’s OK.  Yuusuke still shows flat notes, but he isn’t forcing it so it’s not a huge bother.  One of the album’s gems.

10. STYLE ~get glory in this hand~

The first single of the era, STYLE was another messy track and probably should’ve had a different track instead of this one.  I can see that they were trying to recreate the awesome “PRIDE”, but this one felt weird and emotionless.  I have to say, this was the worst A-side I’ve heard thus far.

11. Pearl Shadow

What a wild guitar opening.  Yuusuke = oh god no here.  Once again I found myself wondering, why this sounds like the other tracks on the album.  I think the main difference is how much Yuusuke got featured because he was in and out in the song so many times.  I love the verses though, what a cool rhythm!  Still not much of a good track.

12. Kuro Ageha Mau Oka

Do I even have to say it?  Take the unoriginality and Yuusuke’s bad vocals and repeat again and you get this track.  There’s acoustic guitar added in to make a little difference between this and the last.  Maaki seems a little off as well here.  She’s covered by the music a lot of the times which is so bothersome…

13. Hoshizora ni Furu Yuki

Quite spacey as it starts and then the song goes down an odd path.  Yuusuke actually fully sings here, he sounds alright, but as you get used to it, he actually throws a wrench and goes back to his yelping.  Maaki actually gets pushed to just singing back up and the chorus while Yuusuke takes the verses.  It’s something refreshing and another good track.

14. Garden of MY Heart

Finally finishing the album is well quite nice actually.  It’s another less hard rock track and is quite happy and there’s synth again.  I found this song to be quite catchy and even though Yuusuke sounds bad here, everything else sounds right.

  • “Here I Am”

I have to say this was worse than their debut album.  I think they were trying to go for a more metal sound, but it just came out wrong and tons of mistakes happened here.  I think Ichirin no Hana was the best song that I didn’t cringe at first listen.  They better make it a comeback for their 3rd album, “San”…..(just saying it, since I’ve heard it already).
