Track Listing

  1. Enrai ~Tooku ni Aru Akari~
  2. Kaerimichi no Orenji
  3. Enrai ~Tooku ni Aru Akari~ (Less Vocal Track)

1. Enrai ~Tooku ni Aru Akari~

Being another tie-in to the GUNDAM series, Enrai is just as good and memorable as “PRIDE” which is fortunate right from the start.  Maaki’s calm vocals beginning the song out before the band crashes in at full power.  I think everyone did a great job playing in the song and c’mon Maaki sung well for this track.  It’s another one of my favorite HandMC songs.

2. Kaerimichi no Orenji

The B-side of the single, Kaerimichi no Orenji is a lot more upbeat in its sound and it’s basically on the line of pop/rock.  It starts off with Yuusuke’s growling before Maaki comes in for the verses.  Now the chorus here is a bit weaker than the verses and bridge, but it’s returning the sound of previous pop/rock songs and this is a lot more cleaner than before.  I quite liked it overall.

HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR releases another good single.  Enrai is definitlly in the GUNDAM veins and is another awesome song from them.  Especially to make up for “DIVE into YOURSELF”.  Kaerimichi no Orenji does come off as the forgetful B-side in the crews discography and it’s understandable because they don’t do well on these kind of tracks, but I liked it.  Good single!

Hidemi Uematsu – Dear My Friends/Trauma

dearfriends

Track Listing

  1. Dear My Friends
  2. Trauma

1. Dear My Friends

Dear My Friends kind of actually reminds me of a lighter “Jidai” which doesn’t surprise me, but at least Hidemi sounds great here and isn’t stressing her vocals so soon.  Her voice is very soulful and she’s got a pretty good range overall.  The songs lightheartedness and the easily likable lyrics makes this a pretty great A-side.

2. Trauma

Trauma however took the cake.  Not only is the song a lot expressive than “Dear My Friends” the entire song is just one major hate-fest going on emotionally.  I was reading the lyrics and translations and how she was constantly talking about pain and trauma, I was like damn these are some pretty cool lyrics and how she expressed them was well.  Even when her voice went honky, it was emotional and so far this is her best track.

Hidemi’s debut is definitly leagues ahead of her next single, Jidai. Dear My Friends was a pretty happy track with some condescending moments of friendship, which is a good way to do songs.  Trauma though was amazing with her almost poetic lyrics about the pain of life.  I clearly see a big future happening for her.

Track Listing

  1. LaLaLa-SoSoSo
  2. LaLaLa-SoSoSo (Instrumental)

1. LaLaLa-SoSoSo

LaLaLa-SoSoSo differs from the last two singles basically by being a nice upbeat song.  Though I’m noticing that Mano is depending on the chorus to pass her by because “Lucky Aura” was a pretty repetitive song when you really looked at it.  LaLaLa-SoSoSo definitly falls into that category, but since the song is slower than the former, it makes things a lot worse.  Not my kind of song.

Thank god this is Manoeri’s final indies produced single.  This has to be my least favorite of the 3 indies just because it was a little too boring and the chorus was just plain annoying.  I still like the piano playing, but I rather have her stick with something more upbeat.

Track Listing

  1. Can’t forget your love
  2. PERFECT CRIME -Single Edit-
  3. PERFECT CRIME ~DJ ME-YA URBAN BEAT BOX REMIX~
  4. Can’t forget your love (Instrumental)
  5. PERFECT CRIME -Single Edit- (Instrumental)

1. Can’t forget your love

I was a bit surprised to finally hear Mai-K finally leave the saddening sounds of the R&B style she was using.  Instead we get a very simple ballad that has twinkly feelings going throughout.  Then my thoughts are dashed as the song gets a shuffling sound…ugh…she should’ve kept the ballad sound going.  Mai’s vocals are pretty sweet and she’s softer than she normally is which makes the song more nice.  It’s actually pretty good, better than her last few A-sides.

2. PERFECT CRIME -Single Edit-

I really loved PERFECT CRIME from the last album, and to see it basically revamped on this single made me happy.  The edit is actually pretty minor, I think it’s because the beginning is actually now muffled which is pretty rad.  The songs arrangement is a lot darker than her normal releases of songs and this was pretty awesome.  Definitly worthy to have been an A-side ^_^

Mai-K’s first single of the “FAIRY TALE” era was a great start for the era.  The first A-side was a little typical, but Mai progressed well enough to make the song pop and was a pretty nice ballad.  PERFECT CRIME though was a cool addition even though it isn’t on the album for obvious reasons.  Still I was impressed by the single.
