  5. No Answer (Instrumental)

1. Over Load

Over Load is a lot of what was on her last album “VOICE”, There’s a nice string section and add in the dance beats to fill in the other slots of the song and you basically get “LIFE”….I mean Over Load.  Anyways, the song isn’t as unoriginal as I listen to it more, but the similarities are just blaring.  I think what made me like the song a lot was the PV and all that gold.  Mika as usual doesn’t fail to give a nice performance and I quite like it.  I was expecting Over Load to be more aggressive, but this is pretty good otherwise.

2. No Answer

No Answer though was the shining track here.  It starts out fading in as well, but the song also screams “FOCUS” to me.  Now this track is better because it is more aggressive and I can imagine some choreography if there was a PV for it.  I love the verses in the song because you can hear the synths and strings meshing into each other and I loved it tons.  Mika also gave a better performance IMO….this easily should’ve been the A-side.

3. Over Load (Kenmochi Hidefumi Remix)

The remix of our A-side takes all of the synths out of the song for a more natural sound, almost sounding like something you’d hear on a beach at night.  I can’t clearly say if it’s better than the original version, but I’ll say I like this kind of style.  It’s the whole laidback and easy listening  that I enjoyed a lot.

I wasn’t sure of where Mika was heading after the genre-testing of “VOICE” and I’m sensing that she’s going into a more synth-forward style which is a good thing in my book.  Over Load and No Answer though do sound familiar to past tracks which hurted them, but they both are good tracks if you don’t think that.  No Answer though was the better one xD.  The remix was a nice addition and I prefer it over the main version.
