COVER

Track Listing

  1. LIKE A HARD RAIN
  2. Saigo no Yoru
  3. LIKE A HARD RAIN (Original Karaoke)

1. LIKE A HARD RAIN

I was happy that LIKE A HARD RAIN was pretty hard as a track with hard guitar playing Nanase’s singing.  I can actually stand her vocals here because they aren’t as ear-piercing as it was in the last two singles.  I can even say Nanase is quite expressive because she’s showing off some sweet attitude.  Could this be my favorite A-side of the era?

2. Saigo no Yoru

Our ethereal B-side pops up next and well, it’s quite different from what I’ve heard so far from her.  It’s nice to see her adding new sounds to her songs because Hearing bells and having a more ballad-sound actually worked for her and it meant it didn’t stress her vocals.  Trust me, Nanase still has her vocal issues, but they aren’t as prevelant as in the other songs like “Yumemiru Shoujo ja Irarenai”.  I really loved the latin guitar ending the song til it fades out, that was very cool.

This could be my favorite single of the “Red” era.  Both songs did well for her especially the B-side which was a ballad practically.  I think we have hope for her yet and it started out with this cool single.  LIKE A HARD RAIN is probably the cleanest of her works IMO so far.

Track Listing

  1. Yes
  2. Yes (English Version)

1. Yes

If you had asked me what I thought about this song, I probably would’ve said something around the lines “WINTER SONG”…..I mean it has a pretty piano melody and the jingle bells were also present.  SNoW’s vocals are pretty good it reminds me of a few other artists.  Oh then when she gets into the chorus she says ~It’s Christmas day~  So I was right.  The arrangement isn’t exactly anything different from let’s say “White Light”, or “CHAIN” so this was just an alright listen.

2. Yes (English Version)

It’s kind of strange that the English version doesn’t immediatly start off with the acoustic guitar.  The song’s lyrics are pretty sweet because she’s actually in love with someone and just missing him basically.  Other than that there’s isn’t too much difference from the JPN version, but she sounds good in English though.

SNoW’s debut single was pretty risky, especially for the song being roughly about Christmas.  I think it’s alright at best and I can sit through and listen to it.
