1. R.P.G.~Rockin’ Playing Game
Being Oshare-kei, I was wondering what I was getting myself into with this band and I surprised that while they have a more visual style to them, their music is pretty much upbeat and fun to listen to. Takeru’s vocals kind of mind me of MIYAVI’s vocals when they aren’t bad which is definitely good, but Takeru does reach that point where his vocals seems a bit nasally with the wild-ass arrangement. It might be a bit more messy than what I thought originally…but it’s a good tune.
2. don’t stop da muzic
Now I’ve heard my share of Oshare-kei bands and they love to use synths in their songs and this song is not an exception to that, but I like the almost HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR feel it has. I mean I think someone besides Takeru is doing the rapping and I was like this sounds so damn similar but a bit cooler to listen to. I do think this is more raw and has a harder punch than the A-side so I liked this more!
3. 16bit HERO 3
I know that there are actually two previous ones; one off their “Life♥2Die” single and the second off of their “TOKYO MUZiCAL HOTEL” album. Now I’m not totally sure what melody is playing, but I like the fact that it’s not only the synthy stuff and the band has a part of this tune. I was surprised though Takeru’s vocals are heavily layered in auto-tune. It’s an odd song for sure, but it’s good for me on first listen.
Being my first SuG single reviewed I was kind of impressed in this single. Though I’ll take don’t stop da muzic over the three because it wasn’t messy and loud like the A-side now was it too weird like the second B-side. I still have to get used to Takeru’s vocals but I can see myself liking them.
