1. Kyouka Suigetsu feat. Maika

Hmmm one half of mihimaru GT collaborating with one of this year’s debut artists, Kyouka Suigetsu wasn’t what I was expecting knowing of miyake’s background with R&B.  Maika does provide main vocals and of course her unique vocals make an impact against the interesting mid-tempo fueled song.  It’s definitely along the lines of Maika’s “Kokoro” since it’s blatantly a ballad, but really good.  miyake’s part is actually quite small against, but his rap is more into it than some past mihimaru GT ballads, so it’s a step up from everything.  Good song overall, but having miyake being secondary to the song is a little weird.

2. BEGINNING feat. 55 MONKEYZ

LOL at the whole basketball setting opening up the B-side of the single.  So I guess from the talking at the beginning, 55 MONKEYZ is a new group, but I wouldn’t know any difference.  miyake has the more quieter vocals while 55 MONKEYZ has the more exciting vocals.  This was what I was expecting from miyake since it’s more urban and hip-hop than “Kyouka Suigetsu”.  It’s pretty catchy, but the other member of 55 MONKEYS kind of sounds weird…but still a good track.

Being the lone single before miCKun’s debut album, Kyouka Suigetsu is a good debut for miyake.  Though the single to me is useless since both songs will be featured on the single, it’s still a solid release.  One a ballad and the other hip-hop.  I’m definitely looking forward to his album!
