Light Infection (Live@Prague-Stream Vol.4 2011.04.10)
Balance Doll (Instrumental)
1. Balance Doll
After their mini-album, I was wondering how they’d begin their sophomore era and Balance Doll sounds actually nice for being one of their more lighter rock songs in their collection. Yuuta sounds actually kind of good and his vibrato is pretty solid and fits with the melancholic feel of the track. I’d say this is a pretty damn good A-side from the band.
Unlike the A-side, Sai is more upbeat and rock-based and Yuuta is singing more louder and standing out from the electric guitars and the rest of the band. After a while the song does feel a little boring since it doesn’t really change much and the chorus isn’t too impressive. To me it just comes of as purely B-side material and nothing more.
3. Light Infection (Live@Prague-Stream Vol.4 2011.04.10)
Rounding out the single is a live version of their 2nd A-side of the band’s career. To me it didn’t sound live but more like a live studio version of the song and since I never heard the original to go by Light Infection sounds bare for a rock track at first but once the chorus opens up, I felt more happier to listen to the song. In the back of my mind though I’m feeling that the original still rocks out better.
Balance Doll might be my first single reviewed by the band but it seems they’re slowly getting better after their debut album and mini. I enjoyed the lead track since it’s slower and yet good to listen to vocally. Sai at first I thought was good, but it eventually got boring and stale but I guess some could enjoy it. Also the Light Infection live is a nice bonus as well since they sound great in it…but it makes me wanna listen to the original.
