Koi wa Owaranai Zutto
Koi wa Owaranai Zutto (Acoustic Version)
Ribbon In The Sky (Gomi’s Lair Club Remix)
1. Koi wa Owaranai Zutto
I think MISIA is onto something quite nice with Koi wa Owaranai Zutto because it’s light and easy listening for me. Less dramatic than “Kioku”, it sounds like your normal ballad from her which might not be as great but once again totally sounds beautiful to listen to. Good, but nothing that she hasn’t done before in other words.
2. Hyakunen Ai
The actual B-side is more or less different from “Koi wa Owaranai Zutto” in that it’s mostly a ballad but a little more upbeat. I will say that I loved the high note MISIA pulls in the intro actually hahaha. Otherwise, I’m not feeling the song either and kind of zone it out after a while. Just merely a carbon copy of songs of her past as well.
3. Koi wa Owaranai Zutto (Acoustic Version)
Then we get into the acoustic version of the A-side and it made the ballad even moreso into one. It’s really only MISIA and piano for the most part and that’s kind of cool to hear such a stripped down take of the tune. Very pretty and wouldn’t have minded if it was just the A-side.
4. Ribbon In The Sky (Gomi’s Lair Club Remix)
Finally, we get a remix of Ribbon In The Sky which was one of the songs she covered on her cover album (OIC) “MISIA no Mori -Forest Covers-“. It’s of course a club mix, so it’s a long track with a long ass intro. I kind of like the track since it’s a calm dance mix of the song and MISIA’s lines are quite nice and fit the arrangement. It’s no “EDGE OF THIS WORLD” but it’s a suitable remix.
MISIA has been quite doing good for herself in recent times and she begun a new set of singles slightly blah but normal for her. Koi wa Owaranai Zutto was good but typical but the acoustic version was much better IMO. Hyakunen Ai was ok but once again fails to be anything amazing. Which leaves us with the Ribbon In The Sky remix and funny enough it’s my favorite. Very atmospheric and pretty mixed with MISIA’s gorgeous vocals. Hope her next release will be awesome!
