1. Captain wa Kimi da!

As it is the trio’s first single together, Captain wa Kimi da! is kind of funky and has a cool disco vibe going on!  It doesn’t seem like the tune includes anything in the way of solos, but it’s a happy song to listen to.  On the flip side of the coin, it does lack energy and the girls don’t really seem to be adding emotion to the track.  It’s an alright song for the most part but there’s some things that are lacking.

2. POP SONG 2 U

Then it gets a little weird into our first B-side.  POP SONG 2 U starts off with a weird rap intro and then the song dives into it’s 80’s new wave arrangement which added to its unique approach.  They sound a little more into this one but they still are lacking emotion in the song and it kind of pains me lol.  I still will say that it’s a lot better of a song than “Captain wa Kimi da!” though.

3. Tameiki, Ocarina, Hora Neko ga Warau.

Onto the last B-side, I get a lot of 50’s vibes out of this song.  They seem to be taking it a little simpler when compared to the previous tracks which is a nice move because I think they give the most emotion out of here and they sound really cute and pleasant to listen to.  Definitely my favorite of the three songs.

As the trio’s first single together, Captain wa Kimi da! is pretty good, but two of the tracks were kind of lacking in areas which is a bit unfortunate because both the A-side and POP SONG 2 U made the album cut while Tameiki, Ocarina, Hora Neko ga Warau. was surprisingly good.  I’m guessing the remix does a little better but I’m just assuming….lol
