1. Ijiwaru Shinaide Dakishimete yo
As the primary A-side it had quite a bit to live up to with all their previous A-sides (sans “Ten Made Nobore!” were REALLY good), luckily they met expectations. It carries the cool sound once again and while it isn’t as bombastic as “Romance no Tochuu”, it’s a pretty awesome-sounding song for sure. Plus it seems like Tomochin got a lot more representation in this song. HOWEVER, I wasn’t liking that Yuka and Akari were shafted in this song but it’s a small negative. Overall, this song was pretty damn good and love listening to this just as much as their debut! BTW, lulz for Momusu’s Ayumi being in the main PV xD
2. Hajimete wo Keikenchuu
With me saying the amount of Yuka and Akari was really in the primary, I wasn’t expecting their secondary A-side to have been such a shift! It actually sounded like the group really came together as a unit with this one. Of course the song is a bit of a switch to their cool sound by being more of a cute song. I quite like the tune as it gives a different side to Juice=Juice and definitely fit the aforementioned members voices which are softer and cuter in comparison to Sayuki and Tomoko’s voices. The only thing I didn’t like were those male quips in the background, couldn’t tell what they were saying and felt cheesy to include…still good!
Juice=Juice closes their 2013 with a pretty good single! I always love seeing the group grow with their cool sound and Ijiwaru Shinaide Dakishimete yo is a great example of how they are continually growing, though I would love for Yuka and Aarii to appear more in those songs. Fortunately, Hajimete wo Keikenchuu was there to improve on that by giving them a cute song…a bit of a switch of sounds but I love how more the back girls got so much attention. Overall, awesome single and is their best single yet!
