1. Prism Sympathy

It’s been a while since I’ve listened to StylipS but it doesn’t at the same time since the track is definitely the same sound we’ve been getting since their debut.  The difference is that Yui and Kaori have left the group and were replaced by Moe and Miku and I’m kind of slightly sad since Kaori was so good here but happy Yui is gone.  The new girls though pick up the slack and their voices aren’t all that bad to listen to.  It’s not bad, but it doesn’t stick out for me.

2. Tsunagu Kizuna Tsutsumu Kodoku

Moving to the B-side, Tsunagu Kizuna Tsutsumu Kodoku is actually a mid-temp ballad which is a little surprising but after it picks up more speed, the tune kind of becomes another generic anison tune…sounds like an ending theme actually.  It really does fly off the radar for me so I don’t remember much of the song, but I suppose it’s nice they have a slower track.

3. Brand-new Style!! ~Mahou Mitai na Show time~ (Step Two)

If you remember the original, it was from their debut single, “STUDY×STUDY”.  There’s no changes in the arrangement to be had, but the main focus is the fact that the new gals replaced YuiKaori in their lines.  It’s still a pretty awesome idol rock track and always peps me up in a good way!  Moe and Miku really do fit the group quite nicely, though it’s harder to tell who is who now lol.  Still good self-cover!

It’s been over a year since I’ve reviewed the group and a lot has happened.  After a remix album, a best and losing Yui Ogura and Kaori Ishimura (and subsequently gaining two members in Moe Toyota and Miku Ito), this is the first single since all of that happened and it’s OK…probably their worst single since their debut sadly, but those singles had such great B-sides in which Prism Sympathy kind of lacked.  The main song isn’t a total bust which is good but Tsunagu Kizuna Tsutsumu Kodoku was a tad generic and self-covering an old song doesn’t really count.  Maybe it’ just settling with a new set of members but hopefully their next single is better.
