1. Ai no Kotoba
Ahhh it seems the mini single, features all three tracks on the EAST version of the OST. As this version stayed the same, this is definitely where Ayumi leads the song before Duu comes in and joins. It’s a nice ballad and has a grand middle, but as the opening track, it is a tad bit short. The WEST version changes things up by being Duu and Sakura singing together…interesting change.
2. Higashi no Chihei, Nishi no Towa
So here we are with another song from the small single and this one is marked as the theme of the stageplay. I’m really like the ominous arrangement that gives this adventuring feel. I do love the bongos and then the vocals gelling together to make it a really powerful theme. The two versions here really don’t sound that different (but I assume the roles and voices are moved around, but that’s the case for the WHOLE album). Overall, might not be the best title track from OSTs but it’s good enough.
3. Otomodachi ni Naritai!
Finally getting to songs I haven’t heard, my first thoughts were that this song is reminding me of some stuff from “LILIUM”. The kind of folksy arrangement and bouncy arrangement wasn’t helping any. It’s cute and such, but nothing that really sticks out to me.
4. Higashi no Chi Aritosca Le
Something about this musical’s feel right now makes me think of Medieval times. This track continues to feel a bit folksy. It does feel like no one gets solos in the song which is a surprising fact as this is a bit more serious sounding than other tracks. HOWEVER, the WEST version of the song is definitely a bit more impressive as it makes it a bit more danceable and bright in comparison (the few differences between the two discs).
5. Nishi no Chi Aritosca La
It seems this is another song that’s different between the two discs. The EAST version is a bit more stripped down to basics with light tam-tams and acoustic guitar which gives it this kind of mystical and enchanting arrangement (though strings to join in after a while). It’s a simple track overall and I quite liked it. The WEST version is a bit more dreamy because it has flute and piano as its main instruments. While the former is Sakura-led, this is Ayumi-led and it’s interesting to say the least. I do prefer the EAST version, but this is pretty as well!
6. Tsuyoki Kuni wo Motomete
Is that Maasa at the beginning? She sounds so evil in this track and I appreciate it since she’s gotten better at singing through these Engeki Joshi-bu performances. The tune does kind of break moods with the squeakier vocals, but after their quick disappearance the song just marches on and ends. The WEST version does make the speaking voices less shrill so it’s the preferred version if anything!
7. Sensou ga Hajimaru
The OST continues and with Sensou ga Hajimaru does move back to the folksy sounds but it’s a little more upbeat. To me it just kind of goes by with me not remembering too much as it’s straightforward and there’s no solo lines to be found. The WEST cut doesn’t feel like it changes much except the vocals. Overall, it’s just not a song that really sticks out.
8. Tsumetai Kaze
Our next track definitely screams like it’s from “LILIUM”. I really like the deep vocalist here, but I’m not quite sure who it is as it doesn’t sound like Maasa really. The dramatic track does have a deeper sound and some underlying electric guitar too. Besides the voice, the tune just doesn’t stick out either.
9. Baceska wo Korose!
Each track makes it feel like a song I heard in “LILIUM” which is starting to slightly bother me. Baceska wo Korose! does have some good movement and the electric guitars give push on top of the beating drums. Maasa though sounds wild and it’s shockingly great to hear! I also like the fact that it’s a full length track (passing 4 minutes). Pretty heavy track and interesting how it flows (the WEST version had either little changes or none though).
10. Mayoi no Mori
Things calm down slightly for the ballad, Mayoi no Mori which is a solo for Sakura mostly (Ayumi in the WEST version). Initially, the song is quiet and empty with just piano but it does grow a bit towards its peak with strings and a similar dramatic feel like the previous tracks. It’s a tad short and the interspersed dialogue throws things off. It’s alright, but nothing ultimately special.
11. Bokura no Shinnen
Of course vocals are splitting once again in both versions of the song but it does feel Haruka, Sakura, and Ayumi have the leading roles. It sounds powerful and with the arrangement (while not jaw-dropping) fits this whole dramatic phase even up to the end with the yells. It’s definitely nice to hear but a lot of this OST so far has been striking with its emoting.
12. Nani mo Kataru na
So another dramatic-like ballad follows with Haruka (Fukuchan on the WEST) and unlike “Bokura no Shinnen” this one lacked a lot of power and emotion and it just felt like it was going through the emotions. So to me, it just felt blah and forgetful.
13. Ou no Tsutome
Wow, I really like Mizuki’s deep vocals that open Ou no Tsutome as it suits this rather forboding ballad. At least it really fits the song and just sounds grandiose and powerful and while Ayumi does try her hardest on the WEST cut, it just doesn’t feel as believable as Fukuchan’s cut. Interesting track.
14. Suki Dakara……
Finally we get to our 3rd track from the preview single and as I said it’s a duet between Haruka & Sakura, but that’s the WEST cut which is surprising since EAST is Haruka & Ayumi. Either way, the song is still pretty decent and not much else to say at this point since it’s repeating from the last couple of tracks.
15. Teki wo Ute!
After the crazy amount of ballads we’ve had, Teki wo Ute! picks things up with a little more dramatic as seen from the middle of the OST. I actually couldn’t tell who was singing solos between the two, but I like how she (they) powered through the song with such brevity. It’s pretty strong, but I feel like at this point, I’ve already heard this somewhere else…
16. Maya no Hi
The final track of the OST, I really love the intro with the flute and sad feeling. Though after that it kind of runs the same path as various other songs on the album on top of just simply vocal differences between the two versions. So sadly, as the final track, I felt this was a weak closing and just didn’t stick out at all.

Finally, we have the full OST from Momusu’s recent stageplay! Though while the single gave me some interest to see what the hubbub was with this OST, it’s definitely not from its music to be quite honest. It feels like I was treading the same grounds as “LILIUM” did a couple years ago with the dark and broody atmosphere and yet striking arrangements. Sadly the ballads were just one too many for me and a lot of the second half was putting me to sleep. Add on that there was two cuts of the same tracklists and I just couldn’t be bothered with many of the songs. Good idea, but could’ve had some better made tracks.
