Track Listing

  2. TOKYO GIRLS
  3. WE ARE THE GIRLS (Instrumental)
  4. TOKYO GIRLS (Instrumental)

1. WE ARE THE GIRLS

Hmmm, I suppose they had released a second single huh xD.  WE ARE THE GIRLS does seem to actually seem a little more polished over their debut and the auto-tune is low here which is pretty good.  Some of the ladies have some vocal issues but the song was a lot more memorable than their debut.  The chorus has a nice amount of oomph and I enjoyed the disco/dance beats.  A much better turnout than I expected!

2. TOKYO GIRLS

The B-side actually followed suit after the leading track.  It does seem a bit more pop than “WE ARE THE GIRLS” as well and the auto-tune is back, but at least it’s under control since it doesn’t seem so overboard.  I’m still a little bummed though.  Some of the ladies don’t exactly work, but you can tell a lot more effort was put here too.

After their disasterous debut, I was shocked to learn that Model Girls actually came back with a 2nd single.  WE ARE THE GIRLS luckily made up for it with a rather catchy set of songs.  The leading tune is awesome to listen to and the girls sound more intrigued and interested and not as auto-tuned.  TOKYO GIRLS is also quite good, but not as awesome.  I have to say…maybe they’ll get even stronger with a 3rd single!

Model Girls – ROCK STAR December 7, 2012

Track Listing

  1. ROCK STAR
  2. TIGER LILY
  3. LET ME LET ME

1. ROCK STAR

You’d think being a group would help mesh vocals together, but ROCK STAR is kind of weird because all the members are models and it really shows that a couple of them have issues singing.  There’s a couple of potentials, but it’s mostly revolved with poor singers with auto-tune slathered upon them.  The song itself, is kind of something that could be thrown out by anyone from Korea and Japan.  It’s just a bit plain and the vocals aren’t saving it…

2. TIGER LILY

If ROCK STAR wasn’t enough of a reason to show how messy this single is then TIGER LILY will definitely prove that they are kind of a messy group.  It’s just the same song with the same vocal issues but there’s a LOT more auto-tune present which just ruined the song for what it is.  Icky…

3. LET ME LET ME

At this point in the single, I was ready to just give up on them, but LET ME LET ME kind of stands out but I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not.  It has the same problems, but there’s something a little more engaging about the arrangement…it’s just the vocals hold it back

Man, SONY is really getting lazy especially with this group…you’d think for being a group made up of models, SONY would take the time to train them vocally…but NOPE!  They instead threw on some effortless music drowning in auto-tune juices and just threw it to them like their pole-dancers.  ROCK STAR just shows how much electronics have taken over the music but did it the WORST WAY POSSIBLE with Model Girls…blech!
