1. Sunday early Morning

Haha, Famison 8-bit much?  That’s what I thought, but then there’s lower synths and guitar.  So there’s a little bit more of control in this song.  Her voice is a bit more singer than seiyuu like which is cool to hear.  Her voice though is under the vocoder.  Other than that this was a pretty cool electro-pop track.  So much vocoding.  The thing that gets me and makes this song stand out from the entire tracklist is how she handles the lyrics.  It’s pretty much gibberish, but putting the syllables together gets various names of animes…unique for sure!!!

2. Romantic summer -momo-i version-

There’s obviously a change between the single and the album version.  One, this is more to her style on this album, which is electropop and second is that its a bit longer.  Her seiyuu voice does come out pretty strong here.  I do like the 8-bit stuff that was written in.  The chorus though was loud and pretty messy for me.  Not the best here.

3. 21 Seiki

21 Seiki which screams 8-bit pop all over.  I do like how it sounds though with some interesting synths.  Momoi doesn’t sound terrible here because she’s on the edge between cute and overly cute.  It’s still nothing new to me.  So I found it to be a little fillerish.

4. RADIO DAYS RADIO NIGHTS

I actually enjoy this track since there’s a combination of guitar and synths.  Momoi comes back to being a singer for this one.  Musically it’s pretty happy and a little strange with guitar solos.  Even scarier is how she pronounces ~Rajyo dates Rajyo nights~.  Freaky.  Somehow it is one of the memorable songs from here.

5. Enter!

No, SEIYUU alert especially with the whole trying to be cute factor I found this 80’s pop track very hard to intake.  I just despise her vocals in this track.  It makes me want to rip my hair out.  Please don’t do this again.

6. Ima, Anata ga Suki

Interesting, a ballad?  I don’t think I’ve ever heard a ballad from Halko.  To be honest it’s pretty beautiful.  Her voice doesnt scream “Kill Me!”.  Comparing this to the rest of the album this is the standout track.  It shows her versatile Momoi can sort altogether, even though ballads aren’t totally her thing.  I still enjoyed it.

7. Party!

I like the opening until we get back into the crappy seiyuu voice.  It’s not as ridiculous as in “Enter!” but it’s still pretty scary.  The music is more for the kids and stuff because it just has this children’s feel to it.  I’m on partial for this.  I like it’s peppiness but at the same time Momoi is killing it with her voice.

8. High Energy -momo-i version-

~High, High, Higheee Energy!!!~  Ok, I really fell for this track hard.  It’s like a TF6 track but there’s something that seperates it from her stuff.  It’s like classic 80’s pop.  I didn’t see much difference between the single and this version.  Definitly a better track from this album.  Totally awesome interlude too.

9. Lumica

Wow, that is a pretty epic opening.  I consider this the Nami zone since it’s like her arrangements.  Seiyuu voice is used but I actually thought it fit with the song which is rare don’t you think?  Lumica is my favorite track from the album.  It’s just is dance-crazy and the guitar oh friggin sweet.

10. Night de Naito

Icky track this is.  It’s very fast and upbeat but is ultimately destroyed by Momoi’s high seiyuu sound.  Plus, the chorus is failure and just so annoying to me.  Musically though it is kinda cool and is very girly/anime like.  It’s just everything else that got to me in this song.

11. Thunder Shot!

Thunder Shot! is prolly the rockiest track and its her most mature sounding track.  She’s using a deeper tone and it took my by surprise and she sounds exceptionally good in this tone.  Her power in her voice tripled for this song and it’s just awesome and epic.  Though her English def needs work and some control on her notes, but this is her strongest performance.

12. Good Morning!

Why did we have to end it on such a girly seiyuu track.  This sounds very incomplete to me.  Her by herself with low 8-bit synth and percussion is strange and the use of vocoder puts more emphasis on it.  I hate the chorus too, it just screams lame and stupid.  What a bad way to end the album.

13. Get Wild

Comparing this to Nami Tamaki’s version this one is more faithful to the original TM Network track.  Her voice though once again fails in this song for some reason.  I hate how she sounds muffled and sounds bored.  Not a good remake if you ask me.  Sigh, and this was a bonus track XD

Song of Avoidance

  • Enter!

Y’know, this album was a mixed bag all over.  Her songs where she uses her seiyuu voice killed a lot of songs on this album.  I actually liked her more matured sounds a lot more.  I still like her other than that.  Not all of it was bad just a good portion

Track Listing

  1. Pegasus Gensou
  2. Bara wa Utsukushiku Chiru
  3. Dare Yori mo Tooku e
  4. Midori no Hidamari
  5. R-R-R-Russian Roulette
  6. Shin Obake no Q-Tarou
  7. Majokko Megu-chan
  8. Attack NO.1 no Theme
  9. Sukisuki Song
  10. Hana no Ko Runrun
  11. Tonari no Totoro
  12. Teleportation -Koi no Mikakunin-
  13. Youkai ni Goyoujin
  14. Banana no Namida

1. Pegasus Gensou

The instant you start this up you will figure out is that this album is all 8-bit music and Momoi is a seiyu.  Put the two things together and you have uber cute.  Pegasus Gensou sounds like Pokemon and it’s downright freaky.  I would say she is using sounds from said games and oddly the tune is a cute one.  Momoi sounds weird but that’s because seiyu’s are usually that way anyway.

2. Bara wa Utsukushiku Chiru

I don’t know what to say but this song has a dark feeling to it (then again I’m used to Nana’s version).  So, it’s pains me to say I wasn’t feeling this version.  I did like the descending lines after she says the title that was just perfect to me.

3. Dare Yori mo Tooku e

OMG, her voice is painful in this song and just so awkward to even listen to.  Then again the video game theme works in this song and could be used in once again Pokemon…Yea it’s that 8-bit.  Not my favorite track.

4. Midori no Hidamari

What?  This has a bit more adventurous and got some interesting stuff going on but I’m still kind of turned off by her vocals.  I can picture her as a character and just going on an adventure on this song.  I love the sounds of this one though.

5. R-R-R-Russian Roulette

Though we continue the very strange vocals, we get a more consistent song with this one.  The synths are a bit more deeper and not so peppy and happy.  Oddly, this song is more catchier than the last few songs and has a good synth line!

6. Shin Obake no Q-Tarou

Then we just get kooky here.  The song is really happy and full of fun sounds and there’s some BKGD vocalists here which brings more life to Momoi’s stressed cute vocals.  Sadly she turns up the ante on the cute and really strikes a chord with me.  Luckily it’s a short track so it doesn’t last long.

7. Majokko Megu-chan

This is got to be one of the better tracks since she sounds ok in this song.  There isn’t too much going on and it sounds like a traveling song which is nice to hear.  Though probably now regular listeners will be like this is just too much and will stop here.  There isn’t nothing new in sound that we haven’t heard earlier.

8. Attack NO.1 no Theme

If they stop there they’ll miss this gem of a song that is this one.  It’s pretty much slower and has a sweet introduction.  After the slow startup we get into a speaking part and it’s where the song shows its colors.  It’s one if her best songs on this album.

9. Sukisuki Song

This song is very fast and is very short too.  Sad most of the time she’s saying ~Suki~.  It wasn’t really memorable to me as it was so repetitive and just crazy.  Still, it is the fastest on the album I’ll give that.

10. Hana no Ko Runrun

Whenever I hear the beginning of the tune, it reminds me of Mario Tennis and how I always lost to Mario damn small buttons!  Still it’s got cute synths and cuter vocals from Momoi which really doesn’t bother me in the song.  It’s just got the right amount of cute but not being overbearing.  Well, it’s H!P’s lane of cute but with Nintendo sounds.

11. Tonari no Totoro

I’m really confused about this song.  One side it’s got a fantasy like sound to it, but on the otherhand, I really hate Momoi in this song.  There’s just something that really makes me cringe from this song and it’s Momoi’s awkward vocals.

12. Teleportation -Koi no Mikakunin-

I thought it was going to be a mysterious song but then it turns to another friggin happy song.  Not that there’s anything bad but there’s just too many uberly cute stuff here.  Thouch I love how she says ~Teleportation~ it’s just the right English.

13. Youkai ni Goyoujin

Laidback is what this game track is.  Except it is ruined by the horrible sounds of Momoi.  IMHO she should have just gone with her natural voice because she sounds horrible being layered.  Then again it stands out because of it’s relaxed overall sound.  So it’s a case of good sound with bad vocals.

14. Banana no Namida

Well this is definitly catchy.  It’s got an islandy feeling to it which is a nice change then again it’s still 8-bit so you know how strange it would seem to be listening to it.  Then again the chorus was just boring and laaaaaame.  Seems like I was playing a Kirby game and if this song came up I’d be like it’s catchy!

  • Tonari no Totoro

Seriously, this album was very different to me since, I’ve never heard this side of Momoi before.  Actually it’s kind of sad to say the first FAMISON is better, and had more difference and had “Moonlight Densetsu”.  Still 8-bit is at a high point in this album if it wasn’t for Momoi it could’ve easily put in some games easily!

Track Listing

  1. AKIHABALOVE
  2. AKIHABALOVE (karaoke)

1. AKIHABALOVE

Surprise!!!! Perfume isn’t working with Nakata so that means that this song is also vocoder-less also.  You can actually tell who’s who in here.  Kashiyuka sounds cute, but A-chan sounds a bit nasally for me and Nocchi sounds more or less any better here.  The song music-wise is a bit like Nami Tamaki’s dance tracks which took me by shock.  It’s still one of 3 songs without Nakata’s help and it’s pretty good.

AKIHABALOVE is defintily not in the norm for the girls.  It’s a great dance track and shows the girls can do things without Nakata, sadly it was only an event only song which is depressing to know.  Still a great track from them.  I consider this a Momoi Haruko release since she’s got another version of it in her debut album.  So it’s no surprise that it was just a small collaboration.
