Morning Musume, teh members!: Generation 10 & 11, Now the double digits generations! September 16, 2012

Not even a month goes by and the auditions for the 10th Generation was announced (along with Takitty announcing her graduation as well.  After whittling it down to 10 finalists, we finally got the winners the day before Ai’s graduation and oddly enough they kind of mirrored the 9th Gen girls a LOT.  Ayumi Ishida (who was in Dorothy Little Happy) and is considered the high dancer of the four.  Haruna Iikubo was the model, Haruka Kudo is the former Egg and Masaki Sato was the project girl with no prior experience in any of the three.  After an album getting to know these new girls another audition was going on and led to 6 finalists but not a day later it was announced that Sakura Oda (another former Kenshuusei) had won and became the lone winner of the 11th Generation.

Ayumi Ishida

  • Tenure: Pyocopyoco Ultra ———> ???
  • Signature Song in Momusu: None yet
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: Harvest, HI-FIN, and was involved in promoting Mobekimasu
  • Overall Opinion?: AMAZING dancer, could have better vocals, but in due time.

Ayumi was a pretty interesting choice since she mirrors Riho so much.  She’s a very powerful dancer and probably one of the best that Morning Musume has ever had which is saying something about someone that just joined a year ago.  Her vocals on the other hand are a bit shouty (like Riho) which is strange but she can sing well.  She hasn’t had much to shine because this is coming only after 3 singles and an album.  Her biggest role yet was in both Kanashiki Koi no Melody and Seishun Domannaka so that would be the place to hear them (and it goes the same for the other three members of the 10th…so I’m definitely keeping watch plus we learned that she can do raps (replacing the loss of Gaki and Aika).

Haruna Iikubo

  • Tenure: Pyocopyoco Ultra ———-> ???
  • Signature Song in Momusu: None yet
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: DIY♡ & Promotion for Mobekimasu
  • Overall Opinion?: She might be one of the biggest project girls Tsunku had to deal with lol.

Harunan was surprising at the auditions because I liked her a lot and she definitely is a pretty girl.  Once she was added it seem like things really started to come out.  Of the 4, she kind of lacks a lot polish in both vocals and dancing but she kind of is the talker of the group which is good for some representing (alongside Kuduu of course).  For what we’ve heard of her so far, Haruna is probably one of the group’s weakest singers as she kind of doesn’t sing very strong and she’s out of tune a lot.  In time I guess she’ll grow into it like how Konkon and Koharu did, but it’ll be a while as she’s the older than the girls of both the 9th and 10th and 11th Gen.

Haruka Kudo

  • Tenure: Pyocopyoco Ultra ———–> ???
  • Signature Song in Momusu: None yet
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: Reborn Eleven, Triplet and promotional work for Mobekimasu
  • Overall Opinion?: Kuduu for being as young as she is, is really starting to bring it in the group!

Starting as an H!P Egg, I would’ve never expected her to have joined Momusu as young as she did.  The thing that she and Tsunku keep mentioning is that she has a husky voice and it’s really apparant because I can hear the grit in her voice and I love it.  It’s something you don’t hear everyday with 12 year olds and I think she will be a lead vocal someday.  As of now, she’s still fine-tuning her voice and the songs that you can hear her in, she’s one of the stronger vocals out of the four.  Hope to see her being pushed soon! ^_^

Masaki Sato

  • Tenure: Pyocopyoco Ultra ——-> ???
  • Signature Song in Momosu: None yet
  • Solo Career?: None
  • Sub-Groups: Harvest, Jurin, Sato no Akari, and helping promoting Mobekimasu
  • Overall Opinion?: Girl has secrets, what other talents does she have?!?

Masaki is really interesting.  At first glance no one really knew why Tsunku chose her because she wasn’t a total fan favorite of the auditions.  HOWEVER, once she joined everything was flipped.  Her voice is quite varied though we haven’t heard her deep voice in a studio recording, when she sings with it live, it’s soooo good.  Most of the time she’s singing in a sweetly high pitch but she has the perfect which makes her stand out amongst the four.  Plus, she’s extra adorable lol!

Sakura Oda

  • Tenure: Help me!! ——–> ???
  • Signature Song in Momusu: None yet
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: ODATOMO
  • Overall Opinion?: She’s definitely what I think Tsunku was looking for during the audition

As we know Sakura Oda originally auditioned to be in S/mileage’s 2nd Generation and she didn’t pass and luckily she got picked up and joined the Kenshuusei for a little while before doing the 11th Generation auditions.  From what I’ve heard from her, she’s a bit like Masaki vocally as she can sing high and low which gibes her variety and her dancing looks good for the amount of training she’s been in.  Can’t wait to see what she’ll be like in Momusu once she begins! Her first single, Help me!! really did well to show off Odasaku’s voice perfectly and since then she’s gotten a lot of prominence in the group’s songs for sure ^^

Morning Musume, teh members!: Generation 9, Kyuukie Membaaaaa! April 13, 2012

This was actually a big audition for me because it was the first one I got to fully witness all of who were going for this new generation which would be the start of some bumpy roads ahead.  With the fact that they’re going from the longest and stable line-up to just Takitty, Gaki, Sayu, Reina, and Aika was a shock to most fans they needed some new life…oddly enough they did go a little too young so the gap of age between new and old was HUUUUUGE!.   Initially closing down to 5 ladies for the final round, Riho Sayashi, Erina Ikuta, Kanon Suzuki, Aina Otsuka, and Minami Mogi (the latter two would end up joining the Kenshuusei (the Egg program with a new name), it was chosed that Riho, Erina, and Kanon would pass as would a former egg, Mizuki Fukumura would join in ^_^  Let’s get to know these four a bit!

Riho Sayashi

  • Tenure: Maji Desu ka Ska! ———> Tsumetai Kaze to Kataomoi / ENDLESS SKY / One and Only (16 Singles + 3 Albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: None yet
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: Reborn Eleven, Peaberry & Mobekimasu
  • Overall Opinion?: She’s a great dancer, but her vocals could use a bit more work!

When I paid attention to the auditions, everyone had their eyes glued to this girl because she was already so prepped from school and dance and having been a part of FASHIONABLE…it was pretty hard not to put a lot of liking to her.  Even I was impressed with her dancing skills but her vocals were a bit shouty.  Since joining Momosu, she has been getting a LOT more attention than the other Kyuukies in stuff like Only you and Ren’ai Hunter.  I do think other members deserve a little more time to shine like the other members (and Aika for god sakes, but she’s been out due to that leg so…eh).  She’s still an amazing dancer though so kudos for that.  As of recently, Riho has gotten a lot stronger, but she still has problems singing but hopefully they’ll figure it out easily.  Though she’s the first of her generation to graduate which is surprising as she’s the ace of the quartet here.

Erina Ikuta

  • Tenure: Maji Desu ka Ska! ———> ???
  • Signature Song in Momosu: None yet
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: Reborn Eleven, Harvest, HI-FIN & Mobekimasu
  • Overall Opinion?: Awkward, but she’s lovable in weird ways…

What to think about Erina huh.  She started out being VERY awkward and felt like she wasn’t taking a grasp at what she was diving into very well.  I mean she did modeling but that didn’t seem to work at first.  After getting through her first two singles, she suddenly got different (for me) right around the time she joined Oha Star.  Her vocals still remained underwhelming at times but getting better like in Otome no Timing but still has a cute voice to her.  However, her looks have been getting way better and the looks she gives in Ren’ai Hunter was nothing but badass (though she did that too in Only you).  To me, she’s like the ugly duckling that turned into a swan (though still awkward at times) XD.  She’s gotten a lot more prettier too like her in One Two Three.  She just looks epic!  Though the big change was that she changed colors to Gaki’s color (because she’s just that big of a fan).

Kanon Suzuki

  • Tenure: Maji Desu ka Ska! ———> Utakata Saturday Night! / The Vision / Tokyo to Iu Katasumi (17 Singles + 3 Albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Oh my wish!
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: Reborn Eleven & Mobekimasu
  • Overall Opinion?: Silly, Silly….though my favorite of this generation ^^

Of all the girls in the auditions, Kanon was definitely by far my favorite of the four.  She brought character to the group and her happy-go-lucky vibes and that award-winning smile always gets me in a good mood.  She’s like me, being weird and fascinated by different things and her bug interest…something you would NEVER see in an idol.  She is the girl that has the least experience and it shows like her dancing.  She could be a potential epic voice since she’s got a deep tone but she needs to learn control because the recent concert with the other H!P members was rough to say the least.  Still, she’s got a lot of potential!!!  Especially now, her vocals are even better than before and the lines she does get are quite strong as seen in Waratte! YOU.  Though it’s sad that she’s going to basically be the 2nd member of the 9-ki to graduate!

Mizuki Fukumura

  • Tenure: Maji Desu ka Ska! ———> ???
  • Signature Song in Momosu: None yet
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: Shugo Chara Egg!, Reborn Eleven, and Mobekimasu
  • Overall Opinion?: She’s got a good voice and all…but I can never remember her voice for the life of me…and her personality doesn’t come out well.

I was surprised that Mizuki would be chosen as the fourth and final member (then again I think everyone was surprised she was chosen period since there was no mention of her auditioning prior).  I knew she did SCE! but even then Mizuki never stood out for me.  Her voice is pleasant (probably the most stable and single-ready of Kyuukies) but she’s forgettable.  I mean she was covered up by Sayu in Suki da na Kimi ga and her only song where she had long enough solos was in Moshimo… which was a collaboration with the cute voices in H!P (Momoko, Nakky, Dawa, and ManoEri).  She’s so tame and right now joins Riho in the not-so-much personality driven.  I want more of her to come out!  Luckily, she has stood out more in the group taking lines with Sayu and even being heard quite a lot in Pyocopyoco Ultra.  She’s still very quiet and doesn’t strive to stand out in the group, but she’s pretty and sings really nicely at least until Help me!! where all of a sudden this diva suddenly appears and just starts singing more and more!  Her personality is still in the works, but at least her vocal presence is known now ^_^

Morning Musume, teh members!: Generation 7 & 8, Kirari Granny Pandas! October 19, 2011

It’s really strange at how the 7th Generation came about.  I mean we’re coming off the fact that Kaori, Marippe, and Rika-chan all left/graduated practically less than a couple months of each other.  The first actual audition lend off with no winners which was a shock to many and prolly for the Momosu girls since they were recovering from Mari’s sudden departure.  Tsunku then tried it again looking for a new miracle girl (ala Gocchin) and ended up with Koharu Kusumi which to some was what H!P needed and that was youth again…and to some it was a major fail compared to Maki.  A while later and after Konkon and Mako graduated out they had another audition and it turned up a couple of noticeable names mostly Aika who ended up being (primarily at the time the only girl of her generation).  Strange enough, Tsunku then after two singles and an album added two more girls Linlin (who was a Hello! Pro Egg) and Junjun to the flagship after the fact that Yossy and Mikitty both left.  However, they were credited as Chinese members and they didn’t exactly bode well to the fans at first but gained a following to their end.  Sad to see that these two generations ended with Aika graduating along with Risa….

Koharu Kusumi

  • Tenure: Iroppoi Jirettai ————–>Kimagure Princess (15 Singles + 5 albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Rainbow Pink (album song from “Rainbow 7”) and Takara no Hako (album song from “SEXY 8 BEAT”)
  • Solo Career?: Yep and she did better as a soloist more than a member in Momosu
  • Sub-Groups: Kira☆Pika, MilkyWay, ZYX-α, Ex-Ceed! and did Tanjou 10nen Kinentai and Dream Morning Musume
  • Overall opinion: Koha definitely brought the cute to the group, not gonna lie…but she failed as the “miracle girl”.

Like I written up at the top, Tsunku was looking for a new ace to bring life back into a Momosu where 3 of their core members left to pursue other things in life.  I’m not sure why he chose Koharu in this case especially if he casted up that Reina was the “perfect idol girl”.  Thing is though Koharu was casted in Kirarin☆Revolution as the main character and of course being the voice she got tied into doing songs for the series and surprisingly she got wicked popular.  However, that same popularity did not happen on the flipside when she was in Momosu’s territory.  She wasn’t too important as a member but she had her first lines of words in the intro to Iroppoi Jirettai which was her debut.  Later on she took more important roles in songs like Aruiteru, Onna ni Sachi Are, and Mikan but otherwise, she was in the back with lyrics to her own on an equal pace with the other back members.  It is a little strange that she graduated quite quickly to get into fashion, but nowadays she’s the youngest of the DMM ladies.  Also, yeah she did fail as the miracle girl, but damn she did great as a soloist and when she was leader of the two Kirarin-based groups.

Aika Mitsui

  • Tenure: Egao YES Nude ———–> Ren’ai Hunter (18 singles, 5 albums + Pyokopyoko Ultra & Ren’ai Hunter on 13 Colorful Character)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Watashi no Miryoku ni Kizukanai Donkan na Hito (album song from “Platinum 9 DISC”)
  • Solo Career?: None at all…maybe covers but nothing original
  • Sub-Groups: Athena & Robikerottsu, Guardians 4, and Tanpopo# while also participating in Mobekimasu
  • Overall opinion: Aika is definitely an underdog kind of gal, but I hope something awesome happens with her too!

I find that the timing of the 8th Generation was very strange indeed and even weirder that Aika actually won the auditions on her own (over Yuu Kikkawa no less).  I am a little freaked out that her debut single was Egao YES Nude simply because I felt that she was a little too young for that kind of sexuality-based kind of song.  It’s nice they did a little more with her during the years though I must say she stood out more in the early singles she was in than in the later ones like Onna ni Sachi Are amd Mikan. In recent days she’s been better known in her sub-groups and since they’ve become inactive she’s came back to somewhat in the middle like Risa and Sayu.  Then in 2011, she injured her leg and since then has been MIA for a lot of Momosu and overall H!P stuff, but she’s still singing and I liked her lines in Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai! for sure.  Hopefully she’ll be back on her feet dancing and being able to promote more ^_^…Sadly we won’t get to see that day because of her injury and worries of it happening again, she decided to graduate from MM.  Hopefully whatever is in her future will be great for her!

  • Tenure: Onna ni Sachi Are ————-> Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game (11 Singles + 3 Albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou? (Chinese Ver.) (album song from “10 MY ME”)
  • Solo Career?: None lol
  • Sub-Groups: Zoku v-u-den and Ex-Ceed!
  • Overall opinion: I wish she wasn’t such an unknown to me lol.

After Aika debuted two singles previous Tsunku surprised people by adding two Chinese members!  Unfortunately they were the definition of back members since they really had zero time to show off their skills in their tenures.  Junjun to me never stood out unlike Linlin strangely enough.  I mean her vocals were alright but they were never stand-out-ish nor her personality stood out.  She’s to me like I was to Asuka…way too foggy of a member for me to remember and sometimes I forget she’s there.

  • Tenure: Onna ni Sachi Are ————-> Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game (11 Singles + 3 Albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: for you… (album song from “Champloo 1”
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: Shin Minimoni and Ex-Ceed!
  • Overall opinion: She is one the few Momosu members who had such a unique voice

Unlike poor Junjun who really didn’t take off for me, Linlin actually did the job for me.  She was clearly the geek of the 8th Gen, but she was so lovable for it that I kind of fell for her when she was performing.  About that, prior to joining Momosu she was actually a Hello! Pro Egg and it’s great to see her move up into the main group (like later entrees, Mizuki and Haruka).  As so it sucks that Tsunku had many opportunities to let her sing and she was a great singer better than most of the members at the time!  I hope she continues with music because she’s got potential!!!

Morning Musume, teh members!: Generation 6: Teh Rokkies!!! June 29, 2011

After losing Gocchin and Kemeko (the latter JUST one single before) it was time to bring in new blood and it seemed once again we got four new members.  Well, sort of.  Three were actually brand new members: Sayumi, Reina, and Eri while Miki was in training and working up a solo career at the time yet she got lifted to being a Momosu member (even though she was a solo artist).  Even more interesting is that unlike all of the previous generations, the Rokkies’ first single, “Shabondama” featured Miki and Reina at the forefront of the single which was new!

Miki Fujimoto

  • Tenure: Shabondama ——-> Kanashimi Twilight (15 Singles + 3 Albums + Kanashimi Twilight on “Platinum 9 DISC”)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Samui Kara Fuyu da mon! ~Doumokou mo Naissu yo Mikitty~ (song from 7.5 Fuyu Fuyu Morning Musume Mini!)
  • Solo Career?: Yep, even before turning into a Momosu member and that stands out to me more than any other member of Morning Musume.
  • Sub-Groups: Gomattou, Odoru♡11, 11WATER, Country Musume ni Konno to Fujimoto, Sexy Otonajan, GAM and was in the special groups MM Otomegumi and Dream Morning Musume
  • Overall opinion: I seriously think that Mikitty is one of Momosu best and strongest singers.

I think we can figure why Miki was so bitchy joining Morning Musume.  I mean did she really want to go from a pretty good solo career into a group setting.  I wouldn’t be too pleased about it either in my opinion.  Anyways, Miki to me was always one of the strongest singers of all the members of Momosu and that’s saying something.  There were songs that really impressed me vocally like Shabondama, Roman ~MY DEAR BOY~, and even Kanashimi Twilight.  Given, those songs were for the vocally epic so it was no guess that she would kick so much ass.  Yeah she did leave without a graduation due to scandals happening, but I seriously think she wanted to leave in some way.  Still, she’s my favorite out of this generation and it sucks she had to leave early.  Would’ve made later song sound….less boggy….

Eri Kamei

  • Tenure: Shabondama ———> Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game (26 Singles + 6 Albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Kataomoi no Owari ni (album song from “Platinum 9 DISC”)
  • Solo Career?: Well she did do cover songs in H!P land…but I wouldn’t say solo career in original songs though.
  • Sub-Groups: Tanpopo#
  • Overall opinion: In personality, it couldn’t get any better than Kame.  She always managed to make me laugh when the spotlight was on her and while she isn’t vocally as great as other members she found a nice niche for herself!

It’s really weird when there’s a member that just gets to you in a great way and that’s what Eri did for me.  After her ~refreeegeter~ episode, she’s always made me laugh at the things she does on the various shows she was on.  In the group, she was pretty much not too important in lines until Iroppoi Jirettai where she and Koharu shared the opening lines.  Since that single she’s appeared more and more on singles like Nanchatte Renai and Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game.  I am a little saddened that she left because of health issues but I hope she gets better and returns because I miss her a lot (the most out of the triple graduation).

Sayumi Michishige

  • Tenure: Shabondama ——–> TIKI BUN / Shabadabadoo~ / Mikaeri Bijin (39 Singles + 9Albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: It’s You (album track from “Platinum 9 DISC”), Fantasy ga Hajimaru (album track from “Fantasy! Juuichi”), and Lalala no Pipipi (album track from “13 Colorful Character”)
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-Groups: Ecomoni and Zoku v-u-den and did MM Otomegumi and Mobekimasu
  • Overall opinion: She’s really adorable and after the twins and Rika-chan graduated she took up the sickingly cute spot quite quickly.

Sayu has always been a strange member for me.  When she first started I thought she was an attention hogger and she still does today but it’s not like enough to make me hate her anymore.  Like Konkon though, she’s a pretty crappy singer and her dancing is OK.  She does have moments where she fits in the music like Namida ga Tomaranai Houkago and various moans here and there, but once Tsunku found the auto-tune he’s been slamming her with it in recent times like in Fantasy ga Hajimaru.  She still is quite cute and now with her becoming the sub-leader, I just can’t imagine how she’ll do once Risa leaves.  Luckily, her leadership has suddenly brought Momosu up from the ashes with new life and popularity…it’s so amazing to see, though it was time for her to leave the coop and let the newer members take charge.

Reina Tanaka

  • Tenure: Shabondama ———-> Brainstorming / Kimi Sae Ireba Nani mo Iranai (35 Singles + 8 Albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Kira Kira Fuyu no Shiny G (song from “7.5 Fuyu Fuyu Morning Musume Mini!”), Heya to Y Shirts to Watashi (song from the Champloo album), Ai no Honoo (album song from “Fantasy! Juuichi”), Namida Hitoshizuku (album song from “13 Colorful Character”), and Rock no Teigi (B-side from Brainstorming / Kimi Sae Ireba Nani mo Iranai)
  • Solo Career?: Like the other current H!P members, just only cover songs right now.
  • Sub-Groups: Aa!, Elegies, High-King, and Reborn Eleven and participated in MM Otomegumi and Mobekimasu
  • Overall opinion: As Reina is aptly called the perfect Momosu girl, I really dislike that name Tsunku gave her.  She’s not that great and kind of is getting tiresome like Takitty.

I’m going to be straightforward, when Reina opened up the Gen’s debut song, Shabondama, I was impressed by her almost by a longshot because she had edge to her.  Then she kind of backed off to the back for a while to let more of the powerhouse singers lead up until Iroppoi Jirettai where she did start to take more of a major role in lyrics.  Since then she’s kind of been off and on with how well she sings the songs since she can be nasally or she can sing it right.  I’m a little unsure what to feel, but I feel that her time to leave is near and I really don’t want her taking Ai’s already big enough percentage head-on!  Even though it did come to fruition Reina did get better vocally and now she’s graduating to a new band ^_^!  Can’t wait to hear how that turns out.

Morning Musume, teh members!: Generation 5: Teh Gokkies!!! May 18, 2011

The Gokkies surely brought a lot of interesting vibes with the addition of what was originally supposed to be Ai Takahashi, Makoto Ogawa, and Risa Niigaki….However Tsunku basically admitted freely that there was one girl who just sucked poorly and he decided to take a risk and add Asami Konno along the ride.  As of writing this only all of the Gokkies graduated….  So let’s get down to it right?  Oh yeah, just like the last generation, their debut single “Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~” didn’t really star them.  However Risa has the opening lines and Makoto was featured a lot in the song’s PV….take that as you will.

Makoto Ogawa

  • Tenure: Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ ————> Ambitious! Yashinteki de Ii jan (18 Singles + 4 Albums + SEXY BOY ~Soyokaze ni Yorisotte~ and Ambitious! Yashinteki de Ii jan on SEXY 8 BEAT)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: I don’t think she really did during her days in Momosu where she was main at least
  • Solo Career? None whatsoever
  • Sub-groups: Petitmoni, Happy♡7, SALT5 and participated in MM Otomegumi and DMM.
  • Overall opinion: Really, you had the biggest hopes when you debuted but Tsunku really sucked at lines for ya to be honest only letting you truly shine with the sub-groups.  One-liners don’t cut it.

I used to really love Makoto for some reason.  It could be from her humor or her ways of talking and her Utaban appearances but seriously was shafted when looked at as a whole against the other Gokkies.  I mean she was all over the PVs and she had one-liners that were great like AS FOR ONE DAY and her biggest work during Momosu herself was basically Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari 2 in which she sung a nice amount (then again everyone had the same amount of time in the song).  Very underappreciated and like I said, the sub-groups did a good job of pushing her out like SALT5 where she really man-handled that cookie LOL.  Nowadays, she’s come back from English lessons and has returned as a part of Dream Morning Musume.  She still isn’t the most important, but she’s gettin lines of normality.

Asami Konno

  • Tenure: Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ ————> Ambitious! Yashinteki de Ii jan (18 Singles + 4 Albums + SEXY BOY ~Soyokaze ni Yorisotte~ and Ambitious! Yashinteki de Ii jan on SEXY 8 BEAT)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Namida ga Tomaranai Houkago (24th A-side)
  • Solo Career?: Nope!
  • Sub-groups: Tanpopo, Odoru♡11, Country Musume ni Konno to Fujimoto, 11WATER, and Ongaku Gatas and was in MM Sakuragumi
  • Overall opinion: Weird gal, but she had a personality to boast upon and she was adorable!!!

You really can’t go wrong with someone like Konkon who was the oddly chosen member of the Gokkies.  I mean she doesn’t have the vocals like Yossie, Gocchin, Takitty or even Mako and doesn’t dance the best either!  Remember how Konkon danced in Do it! Now alongside Gocchin?  It was pretty damn awkward.  However as time grew by (and her insatiable appetite) she became one of the more cuter personalities alongside Rika-chan and Aibon/Nono.  She still didn’t have the best vocals but was enough to garner basically a song where she was the front vocals with Namida ga Tomaranai Houkago.  That was impressive and showed that with a lot of dedication a crappy choice can become a force to be reckoned with.  Beyond that, she didn’t have much going for her like Risa or Ai and stuck with Makoto with the rather ignored bunch.  However, whenever Konkon sings, you can easily tell it’s her.  Also oddly enough she’s the only member of the 0G that isn’t doing Dream Morning Musume (Tsuji is participating, but just on baby leave).  Sad to see she isn’t doing it but props for her TV job now ^_^

Ai Takahashi

  • Tenure: Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ —————>Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatterun da yo! / Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai! (35 Singles + 10 Albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Izakaya (album song on COVER YOU), Denwa de ne (album song from Fantasy! Juuichi), Yuki/Ai×Anata≧Suki (song from 7.5 Fuyu Fuyu Morning Musume Mini!), and Jishin Motte Yume Motte Tobitatsu Kara (B-side from Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatterun da yo! / Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai!) and WAY TOO MANY A-SIDES TO ACCOUNT FOR!
  • Solo Career?: A couple of digital singles with only one original song, Yume Kara Samete
  • Sub-groups: Happy♡7, Minimoni, 7AIR, Elegies, and High-King with her also in MM Sakuragumi
  • Overall opinion: Ever since she debuted she was one of the most pushed of the Gokkies and well-deserved because she has the vocals to do it, but now it’s getting a little much.

Ahhhh, Takitty.  She was definitely the face of  Momosu and she has been for quite a while.  Ever since Nacchi (Natsumi) graduated it seemed like all but a few A-sides and various album songs had Ai as the lead vocals and that’s good and all until you’re doing it repeatedly (especially from Onna ni Sachi Are to Maji Desu ka Ska!).  Her vocals usually are pretty good though and she really has some glorious moments like her epic chorus in Shabondama to her extended epicness in Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game.  She’s a very versatile gal since she also was in Minimoni and the R&B/Euro sounds of High-King.  I do think it she contributed the most to Morning Musume vocally but it was her time to leave and I’m fine with that.

Risa Niigaki

  • Tenure: Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~  ————-> Ren’ai Hunter (37 Singles + 10 Albums + Pyocopyoco Ultra & Ren’ai Hunter on “13 Colorful Character”)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ (13th A-side) and Yowamushi (Naichau Kamo’s B-side)
  • Solo Career?: Cover songs mostly (most of the current H!P gals are doing it sooooo it really doesn’t count but whatever floats.
  • Sub-groups: Tanpopo. Happy♡7, 7AIR, Athena & Robikerottsu, ZYX-α, and Reborn Eleven (while also doing MM Sakuragumi, 10nen Kinentai, and Mobekimasu)
  • Overall opinion: She stood out in tons of Momosu’s stuff but it’s because of both her unique vocals and her godawful hairstyles she’s had up until…well it changes too much XD

Risa has always been an interesting member.  I mean she started out kind of like Yossie being a bit tom-boyish and with her odd hairstyles she’s always kind of been awkward of a member for me when I watch their PVs.  She does have vocals, I mean the opening of Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ where she just opens the song up quite nicely and was literally the only Gokkie that really had a part to herself.  Since then she’s been like Konkon and Mako with one-liners and such but she has such an interesting voice that I’m surprised Tsunku didn’t utilize her better.  Nowadays she’s standing out a little bit more, but with the looming change of leaders…it does make me wonder if the departure of Takitty will make Gaki get A LOT MORE VOCAL TIME.  Sadly we don’t really get to see that because she would be leaving just two singles after Takitty’s graduation.

Morning Musume, teh members!: Generation 4: Twins & Angry! April 5, 2011

So after the popularity of “LOVE Machine”, I guess Tsunku wanted some new blood after Aya, and with Sayaka leaving, it was needed for sure to prevent a 5-nin Momosu happening again xD.   Either way, it seemed like Tsunku wanted a bit of a younger crowd hence Tsuji and Kago were chosen while I think Rika and Yossie were chosen because they were that good. XD.  As it’s been known their were part of the golden era!  Let’s see eh???  Also, just like the second generation, their debut (which is “Happy Summer Wedding” in this case) they weren’t too focused on, leaving “I WISH” to be the first BIG single they were involved in.  The generation brought the first simulataneous gradutation of both Aibon and Nono.  Very interesting group of gals to represent Momosu though LOL

Ai Kago

  • Tenure: Happy Summer Wedding ———> Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari (15 singles, 2 albums + Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari on “Ai no Dai 6kan”)
  • Signature Song with Momosu: I WISH (9th A-side) and AS FOR ONE DAY (17th A-side)
  • Solo Career?: Yeah, it’s slow moving, but she has one
  • Sub-Groups: Tanpopo, Minimoni, Kiiro 5, 3nin Matsuri, Happy♡7, SALT5, W, (and was involved in MM Sakuragumi)
  • Overall opinion: You can’t really go Aibon without Nono…that being said, Aibon’s vocals today aren’t much different than the last thing she released when she was in W.

Aibon does get brownie points for being the first of the 4th Gen to get a solo line in I WISH with having both the opening line and that really high note before Gocchin closes the song out.  Besides that, Aibon really had not a lot of full on solos although she and Nono were singing more lines in cuter songs like Koko ni Iruzee!, Morning Musume no Hyokkori Hyoutanjima, and The☆Pea~ce.  She was however a full-on force when we mention Minimoni and W which were two big groups.  Sadly, Aibon really screwed herself over when she was caught smoking and she was caught twice and her contract was terminated.  Her life was basically gettin to a low point and then she went to the States and now is slowly working her life back up.  During her time of finding herself, she managed a single and a jazzy cover album.  While she is the most tragic of the Momosu family, she coming back up…maybe we’ll see her reunite with Nono? XD

Nozomi Tsuji

  • Tenure: Happy Summer Wedding ———–> Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari (15 singles, 2 albums + Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari on “Ai no Dai 6kan”)
  • Signature Song with Momosu: *shrugs* I guess Morning Musume no Hyokkori Hyoutanjima (16th A-side)
  • Solo Career?: Even slower than Aibon, but yes XD
  • Sub-Groups: Minimoni, 10nin Matsuri, Odoru♡11, 11WATER, W, Gyaruru (and was involved in MM Otomegumi and Dream Morning Musume)
  • Personal opinion: Tsuji might have been there more for looks because whenever I watch a PV, Nono is the one I see more of than Aibon.  Who knows XD

When it comes down to it, when compared with Aibon, she didn’t do too much in Momosu with solo lines here or there, but she didn’t have as much as her twin did.  Though likewise, she stands out a whole lot more in Minimoni and of course W.  After the whole Aibon scandal began she kind of backed out and did shuffle groups and Gyaruru…but that didn’t last long, recently though she’s been slowly doing solo stuff like a solo version of Koko ni Iruzee! and a cover album of children songs…fitting as she’s a parent of two kids…who would’ve thought Tsuji would be a mommy eh?  Though while she is a part of DMM, she had to cancel things because of said second child’s birth.  She’s one of the memorable faces of Momosu for sure

Rika Ishikawa

  • Tenure: Happy Summer Wedding ———> Osaka Koi no Uta (18 singles, 3 albums + THE Manpower!!! & Osaka Koi no Uta on “Rainbow 7”)
  • Signature Song with Momosu: The☆Pea~ce (12th A-side), Shabondama (19th A-side), and Roman ~MY DEAR BOY~ (22nd A-side)
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-groups: Country Musume ni Ishikawa Rika, ROMANS, v-u-den, EcoMoni, DEF.DIVA, Ongaku Gatas, Tanpopo, 3nin Matsuri, Sexy 8, 7AIR, HANGRY & ANGRY, and ABCHO (add Otomegumi and DMM as well).
  • Personal opinion: At first, it was hard to figure Rika-chan out in her early days with the group…though since then she amped up the cuteness vibe so strongly that it almost rivaled Aibon & Nono’s twin-cuteness.  Back then though she sounded different than she does today.

I think Rika-chan is prolly one of the underrated members considering for how much she’s done for H!P altogether y’know?  She’s quite the character and she’s cute and she let’s it be known without being totally overbearing.  I will say that when she sang in The☆Pea~ce, Rika kind of sounded like she had a deeper tone then…but I guess since the cute charm started to play out, her voice I guess had to get used to being as cute and high pitched.  I did like that towards the end of her tenure, she started to stand out more like her spoken lines in Shabondama and leading the dance in Roman ~MY DEAR BOY~.  She was a force and after she left she was still doing a lot like the shuffle groups and recently joining fellow gen member, Yossie for HANGRY & ANGRY which was a duo made for a clothing line and lemme tell ya the music was epic.  Now, Rika is in DMM and still working with Yossie in ABCHO so let’s see what’ll happen.

Hitomi Yoshizawa

  • Tenure: Happy Summer Wedding ———–> Kanashimi Twilight (25 singles, 5 albums + Kanashimi Twilgiht on “Platinum 9 DISC”)
  • Signature Song with Momosu: Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ (13th A-side), Sono Deai no Tame ni (album track from “SEXY 8 BEAT”), and Kanashimi Twilight (33rd A-side)
  • Solo Career?: Nope, sad x.x;
  • Sub-groups: Petitmoni, Akagumi 4, 10nin Matsuri, Sexy 8, 11WATER, Ongaku Gatas, HANGRY & ANGRY, ABCHO (and includes MM Sakuragumi and Dream Morning Musume)
  • Personal opinion: Yossie is such an awesome member, she started off slow, but grew into something quite epic nowadays.  While she isn’t the best singer to grace Momosu, her attitude and humor was definitely one of her best qualities.  She was great and still is!

Ahhhh, the ever epic Yossie.  When she first started, she did stand out slightly with her deeper vocals and kind of innocent charm.  However when Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ came out, boy did that cement the entertaining value she has.  I mean she rocked that song down and for that became the groups tomboy persay.  After that she kind of dove to the background due to both the Gokkies and Rokkies (5th & 6th Gen respectively) coming in and stealing the show.  She however did good on the songs she had solo lines throughout and with Kanashimi Twilight, she rocked her solo part down hardcore and that left me wanting more from her XD.  She hasn’t done too much since her graduation…but she did join Rika-chan to form HANGRY & ANGRY, ABCHO and is doing Dream Momosu which is a plus.  She’s definitely one of the top members of Momosu I think.

NEXT TIME ZE GOKKIES: Konkon, Takitty, Gaki, and Mako!

Morning Musume, teh members!: Generation 2 & 3, the first actual additions..and the ace! March 28, 2011

It wasn’t even one single that more members were added right on the second album…talk about short sticks for some of the first generation to have hopes to have more lines right?  Then again, out of the 2nd Gen, we did get 3 interesting singers in their own right.  After a while with those members Tsunku was looking for an ace or in literal terms, teh awesomeness that could propel the group further in popularity and he did that superbly with Maki.  I also wanna point out that during this time both Kaori Mochida and Koda Kumi both tried out for the 3rd Gen, but Kuu got close but lost to Gocchin….could you imagine Kuu being in Momosu?!?

Sayaka Ichii

  • Tenure: Summer Night Town ———> Happy Summer Wedding (8 singles; 3 albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Otome no Shinrigaku (album song from “Second Morning”)
  • Solo Carrer?: Kind of?  She joined and started CUBIC-CROSS for just a little while and released one solo single…but that was all in 2003-2004…so since then she hasn’t done much.
  • Sub-Groups: Petitmoni & Aoiro 7
  • Overall opinion: Just like I said about Nacchi, Sayaka left on a weird single (Happy Summer Wedding brought in the 4th Generation, so her departure came off on deaf ears it seems so they were busy with Rika, Yossie, Aibon, and Nono.

The first of the second generation to leave Momosu, Sayaka Ichii like Aya Ishigoro struggled to fully stand out in songs during her time as a member which is a little sad knowing that Sayaka had a pretty good voice on her as well.  Oddly enough, she stood out to me during her days as well basically because after Asuka left, she was the only girl to have short hair like she did and she always had a sleepy look to her, but to me she always will stand out to me in LOVE Machine even more than newly added member Gacchan ever did.  At least she stayed a little longer than Aya did after the popularity of said single, but only for two more singles.  If she only had stayed one more single (which was I WISH), she would’ve been pretty cool to see in the PV for sure!  But she didn’t and left to start being a songwriter/musician which came true after joining CUBIC-CROSS and marrying the guitarist XD.  I wonder what she’s up to today since she’s otherwise been quiet…so who knows…can we get her back in DMM?

Kei Yasuda

  • Tenure: Summer Night Town ———> AS FOR ONE DAY (18 singles; 5 albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Never Forget ~rock ver.~ (B-side from “AS FOR ONE DAY”) ……does that count though since it’s just merely based off of Asuka’s solo?
  • Solo Career?: Oddly enough…of the members of this generation, she didn’t X.x
  • Sub-Groups: Petitmoni, Kiiro 5, 10nin Matsuri, Odoru♡11, Puripuri Pink, and Dream Morning Musume
  • Overall opinion: Kei’s weird, but she’s a lovable kind of weird as we start figuring out that weird Momosu members are always great to have!  I still love AS FOR ONE DAY!

Kei-chan has always been an oddball since she’s quite silly and she looks the part quite fondly.  She’s fun and the times she did get solo lines, her voice stood out since they were unique to her.  There’s many PVs where she was definitely standing out during her time, but I will see it was weird seeing in Morning Musume no Hyokkori Hyoutanjima and Good Morning, but I digress.  I’m a little saddened that she didn’t go solo or anything before or after Momosu, but she did do sub-groups.  She’s quite cool and happy she’s doing DMM after so long of no music from her.

Mari Yaguchi

  • Tenure: Summer Night Town ——–> Osaka Koi no Uta (25 singles; 6 albums + THE Manpower!!! & Osaka Koi no Uta on “Rainbow 7”)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Koi no Dance Site (8th A-side), Megami ~Mousse na Yasashisa~ (album track from “No.5”) or Haru no Uta (album track from “Ai no Dai 6kan”)
  • Solo Career?: I wouldn’t say solo, but it’s darn close since both singles with her being the prominent singer has been collaborations.
  • Sub-Groups: ZYX, ROMANS, Tanpopo, Minimoni, Aoiro 7, 7nin Matsuri,  Sexy 8, 11WATER (and MM Sakuragumi and DMM)
  • Overall opinion: Marippe was definitely not well-known in Momosu, but in the sub-groups she participated in which is a little strange, but she’s funny and whenever she’s on Utaban, she’s a hoot XD…makes me wanna get that VIETNAM photobook XDDDDD

Ahhh Marippe, I have to say she has a lot of fun memories and was one of the best members of Momosu, I think in the history of the group.  In her time in Momosu, she stood out a little bit with solo lines quite often and her ever so famous SEXY BEAAAAAAAM! from Koi no Dance Site, however Mari became more famous when she started Minimoni with fellow shorties Aibon and Nono (with Mika Todd who’s from Coconuts Musume).  Though she’s even more well-known for her anguish and lulz factor whenever she’s on Utaban…anything Takaaki says is just epic and the whole VIETNAM photobook was so amazingly funny I just couldn’t help but lulz XD.  She also holds the title as the first Momosu member to be actually dropped from Momosu because of a scandal…so she left on Osaka Koi no Uta along with Rika who was graduating…Mari didn’t have one….PISS!  I still love Marippe either way and her coming back to DMM is amazing!

Maki Goto

  • Tenure: LOVE Machine ———–> Do it! Now (9 singles; 3 albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: LOVE Machine (7th A-side), I WISH (9th A-side), Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ (13th A-side), Do it! Now (15th A-side),
  • Solo Career?: Tchyup, and she switched labels to do so (like Sayaka).  However, Gocchin did have a solo career in H!P as well.
  • Sub-Groups: Gomattou, Nochira Natsumi, DEF.DIVA, Petitmoni, Akagumi 4, 7nin Matsuri, Sexy 8 (and MM Tanjou 10nen Kinentai)
  • Overall opinion: Ahhh, the ever-so-famous Gocchin has always been one of the group’s most popular members and it’s for sure because she was shoved down our throats during her days in Momosu and you can tell by the PVs that Tsunku was pushing her to be in top form.  Now I wouldn’t say she’s overrated…but she was pushed to the forefront more than Nacchi was x.x;

I think it was great that Gocchin began her Momosu years with the group’s best-selling single, LOVE Machine, but after that it seems like she was going more of the forefront simply because she was the so-called “ace” of the group (could you imagine if Kuu was actually in the group….yeah….).  Maki during her time though had many lead lines which at the time was a surprise considering that some of the other members (Kaori, Yuko, Kei, Mari, and Sayaka) were there first…it’s a bit like shoving her in Japan’s face and promoting her more than the group.  After Do it! Now, Maki did begin doing a lot of solo stuff and once in a while get mingled with a sub-group for a single or two and did her thing.  After her brother, Yuuki (former member of EE JUMP) got arrested for thievery, she ducked out of H!P and joined rhythm zone (part of avex).  I thought she was doing great, but I don’t know how she’ll deal after the suicide of her mom…it must be hard for her, but she’s shown she’ll survive….I do wish she’d come back and do DMM…but yeah different labels noooooow.

Morning Musume, teh members!: Generation 1, the start of a legacy

Well, starting off this series of awesomeness, we have to back up to the group’s beginnings.  How Momosu came to be was a rather interesting story.  It began with Tsunku searching for a vocalist through ASAYAN and well…the winner Michiyo Heike got her dream career and became a soloist in the H!P world.  However, in that same ASAYAN, there were 5 other girls who lost to Michiyo and I guess Tsunku was like fuck it, let’s make a group out of these “losers” and see what we can do…and with that a demo tape was released, “Ai no Tane” to see if they were capable and so after they passed that “test”, history began for Momosu.

As it is now, let’s meet these 5 girls that were the First Generation and began a long career for the name.

Asuka Fukuda

  • Tenure: Ai no Tane ——-> Memory Seishun no Hikari (4 Singles + Demo Tape; 1 album + Memory Seishun no Hikari & Daite HOLD ON ME! was on “Second Morning”)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Never Forget (Memory Seishun no Hikari’s B-side)
  • Solo Career?: Sort of?  She joined PEACE$TONE and is one of the lead singers in that band.
  • Sub-groups: None (None existed at her time of graduation)
  • Overall opinion: If she had stayed longer, she would’ve definitely gone places…she had the voice to do so!

To me, being the first Morning Musume member to graduate, Asuka Fukuda takes the cake well, oddly enough she quite the music business entirely in the process only to really end up working at a bar (kind of a silly thing to do…but what can you do).  To me of the original 5, she had the best vocals oddly enough for being so young.  For her time in the group she had as many lines as most of the other members from “Ai no Tane” to “Memory Seishun no Hikari”…but it wasn’t until the latter single that she had her own graduation song and only solo song with “Never Forget”.  It’s sad that she left on her fourth single so soon after debuting with the group which is also a bit kind of bittersweet.  She will always to me be the most elusive of the members because seriously…where is she now?  The bar thing was long ago so that should tell you something and if I remember and this could be rumor-ish…but she left because she wasn’t being treated well by the company, I guess?  I wouldn’t mind seeing her return to entertainment at least to say she was a part of the flagship group.  It’s even more sad to see that she’s the only member of the 1st gen to not witness the explosion caused by “LOVE Machine”.  Though in 2011, we saw a resurgance of her starting a band, PEACE$TONE.  A little underground news but enough to have fans of her take notice ^_^

Aya Ishigoro

  • Tenure: Ai no Tane ——-> LOVE Machine (7 Singles + Demo; two albums + LOVE Machine on “3rd -LOVE Paradise-“)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Wagamama (Off of their first album, “First Time”)
  • Solo Career?: Nope
  • Sub-groups: Tanpopo
  • Overall opinion: Why did you leave after “LOVE Machine’s release?!?  Could’ve done more with Momosu & Tanpopo TBH

The second of the first generation to graduate, like Asuka, Aya is almost too mysterious for some reason.  I mean she did last three more singles longer than Asuka, but it was really weird she chose to graduate after LOVE Machine seeing as that was the uber magnifico single it was.  Her time in Momosu was quiet…not really getting a whole lot of focus…and with Wagamama which was mostly her and Kei (and a bit of Sayaka and Nacchi).  Otherwise, she didn’t really stand out in any of the songs she was in.  Though otherwise she shined a bit more strongly when she, Kaori, and Mari grouped together to form Tanpopo and that was good for the four singles Aya was in for sure.  Still, while people say she was funny, I never got to see that…or much of her otherwise which is sad…and I kind of wish she popped back since it doesn’t seem she walked away on bad terms…I mean she’s in fashion now, but seeing her…iono doing Dream Morning Musume, would’ve been nice, but seeing her perform with them in 2012 is enough to put a smile on my face!

Yuko Nakazawa

  • Tenure: Ai no Tane ——-> Renai Revolution 21 (11 Singles + Demo Tape; 3 albums
  • Signature Song in Momosu: ??? (She didn’t really have a song that was all her own to be honest)
  • Solo Career?: Very much so!
  • Sub-groups: Akagumi 4, Puripuri Pink, Dream Morning Musume (there were others…but nothing released physically, just live stuff & I’d end up repeating H.P. ALL STARS so I’m just gonna not repeat that)
  • Overall opinion: I thought Yuko did a good job leading H!P for so long up until the Elder Club’s graduation.  As for her time in Momosu…more lead would’ve been more fitting for a person with a title like Leader!

Our third member Yuko actually was the leader (along with Michiyo Heike) of all H!P which is a solid good thing for sure, but you’d expect that being leader and all that gushy stuff, she’d get more lines in Momosu…she doesn’t really stand out by her own IMO in her days of H!P, but some of the lines she did have in various songs were pretty memorable since her voice was pretty good (not good like Asuka’s or Nacchi’s) but good.  Even weirder was that despite being in Akagumi 4 and Puripuri Pink…Aya has more songs from Tanpopo over her…though Yuko does strike back because she was the second H!P gal to go solo (Michiyo was the first remember?).  I liked her though and seeing her back with Dream Morning Musume will be quite interesting…though I don’t know if she can pull off some of the choreography anymore…she’s old y’know and getting married now ^_^.

Natsumi Abe

  • Tenure: Ai no Tane ——–> Ai Araba IT’S ALL RIGHT! (21 singles + Demo tape; 5 albums)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: Furusato (6th A-side) & Otoko Tomodachi (album track from “4th Ikimasshoi”)
  • Solo Career?: Yeppers, though that got her in trouble one time…
  • Sub-groups: Kiiro 5, 10nin Matsuri, Odoru♡11, SALT5, Nochiura Natsumi, DEF.DIVA (also including her stints in Morning Musume Sakuragumi, Morning Musume Tanjou 10nen Kinentai, and Dream Morning Musume)
  • Overall opinion: Damn girl, you sure stood out whenever you wanted to and you had the vocals to do so…it just sucks that “Ai Araba IT’S ALL RIGHT!” had to be your final single…why couldn’t it wait one more single…y’know make “Roman ~MY DEAR BOY~” your final single!!!

Ahhh Nacchi, glorious Nacchi!!!  Right off from the beginning it seemed like Nacchi would’ve been leader more than Yuko was since she did get more lines than a lot of the members (even when more members started to add up, she still had a lot going for her and her peak was definitely Furusato although she had a lot of huge parts in songs like Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~, and Do it! Now.  Though in 2004, she kind of made an oops where she got suspended for plagerizing in her solo work and she couldn’t do too much…but this was after she left Momosu.  I was very disappointed that her last single with main Momosu was Ai Araba IT’S ALL RIGHT! since that song didn’t really give her a good wave goodbye.  She left her mark in H!P and she still releasing solo work today with Ameagari no Niji no You ni and keeps up with H!P as well with DMM being her next big thing.  Love her through most of the songs she’s had lines to herself…and her rapping XDDDD

Kaori Iida

  • Tenure: Ai no Tane ——–> THE Manpower!!! (25 singles + Demo Tape; 6 albums + THE Manpower!!! on “Rainbow 7”)
  • Signature Song in Momosu: *shrugs*, Yume no Naka (song from “First Time”) It was her graduation song basically x.x;
  • Solo Career?: Yeppers! Even though it’s been a while since she’s done anything solo-wise
  • Sub-Groups: Tanpopo, Aoiro 7, 10nin Matsuri, Odoru♡7, 11WATER, Puripuri Pink (and Morning Musume Otomegumi, Morning Musume Tanjou 10nen Kinentai, and Dream Morning Musume).
  • Overall opinion: Kaori, you keep doing what you’re doing.  Which might be continuing being called Johnson and then dancing weirdly with your blank expression….jeeze that blank look is hilarious

Last, but not least…Kaori Iida!  She’s a very versatile gal all-around and you can tell she loved what she did for Momosu and the fact she stayed in it the longest of the 1st Generation is pretty big.  As I was looking at various things, Kaori really was the oddball of the group and was the lulz for Utaban many times, calling her Johnson of all things.  She always has the bizarre out of body look to her and she pulls it more in some of Momosu’s PVs XD.  She was very determined and while she never really had majority lines, she was one of the better singers of the group in its history.  After Momosu, there was a solo career which was a 180 from genki to something more Mediterranean in style and I thought that was pretty ballsy for her to do…though sadly she lost her first child which is a first for any Momosu member that has kids.  I do love that she got the courage to return to music with Dream Momosu and it’ll be amazing!
