1. TOXIC
I really don’t know why, but I was so on the boat with other people when she released “FAR AWAY/Believe You” and was hoping she was going to stick to that dark rock genre, but once again she switches gears and turns back into the dance style that she’s been getting better at. TOXIC though is kind of missing something for me, but I’m not sure what it is since the beat is there and it’s affectious like other parts of the song, but I’ll agree that the chorus is the weakest parts of the song. It’s ok, but it’s worse than “FAR AWAY”.
2. CIRCUS WORLD
As the B-side, the first thought that came to my mind is that Boobsmura was probably paying some sort of tribute to Britney Spears (seeing as she has songs titled “Toxic” and “Circus”). Anyways, back on Nana, CIRCUS WORLD actually trumps “TOXIC” since it sounds more complete as song and her vocals actually sound a bit more sexier and huskier than in the previous song and I approve of that a lot. Iono the darker atmosphere and sexual drive of the song worked more easier than in the A-side.
*sigh* Boobsmura, you debuted in mid 2007…you have 8 major singles and still no album?!? C’mon release that fuckin album woman this is getting ridiculous. TOXIC does pull back Nana into her comfort zone, but this time it kind of feels like I’ve heard it already by someone else and it disappointed me. CIRCUS WORLD however was the better song by a long shot and if she stays in the dance genre, she needs to keep songs like that going and not the mehness of TOXIC.
